Trap Ideas

Hi i need some trap ideas. First i was locking at the trap chan but then I found out that it was to late so I decided to make some traps my self. Thats why i need ideas... The trap ideas should could be created by anything except JASS (unless you tell me what to do). All of the traps will be in a test map when finsehed so you can download them and use them.

Poison cloud.

Unit enters region. Dummy unit is created, casts modified stampede utilizing disease cloud. Missle speed 200.

Spiked trap: When unit enters region create a few invisible dummy casters to cast a lethal impale across the region.

Beast trap: whan a unit enters a room the gates to the room close behind it and a powerful beast is unleashed into the room.

A fair while ago I did some work on a map with different traps, a few of the ideas I used were:

Moving blades:
Use a whirring blade missile (like glave or the troll heros one) and make it an invulnerable unit. Then make it patrol an area between two walls of your passage. Make a trigger that if a unit gets within 100 of it they take damage.

Wall of fire:
I made a permanent wall of fire that would damage units in it, then made a switch that would turn it off for 10 seconds to allow you to get through.

Dart traps:
I created a unit out of gravestones and gave it an attack missile that looked like a small dart (cant remember what it was) and when then made a tiled floor. When you trod on the wrong tile the darts were fired at you.

Select a lever/potion:
You can make a room where the player needs to select either the correct potion or level to get through, the other options could poison, polymorph etc..

Combat arena: (like the beast trap suggestion)
Have a room that when you enter (or collect an item in the centre of the room) the entrance closes (make it a gate or something) and smaller rooms around the sides open up, releasing varous enemies (wolves, skeletons etc) You can make a single wave, or multiple waves.

Swarm:
Make a trap that causes a hidden enemy unit to use the locust swarm ability -draining heros hit points. Or make lots of small birds each that have 1 damage very fast attacks and create lots of them so the hero can kill them but they are annoying and damaging.

Elevators:
You could probably make interesting use of the elevators, when trod on, they lift and a player is trapped on them for a few seconds before they lower again.

Trap item chests: they are actually enemies with a low vision so you have to be on top of them before they attack you

Get a rolling boulder like in those indiana jones movies.

Statues that come alive when you touch them. put items close by.

Have a corridor with invisible units that fire arrows at each other.

|..............| the X's are the units. they have higher hp regen than
|X..........X| damage so they dont kill each other. give them
|..............| artillary(line) attack type so any unit that comes in between
|X..........X| gets damage. you could also try with impale.
|..............|
|X..........X|
|..............|

just watch some indian jones movies or play tomb raider

you can use borrowed beetles that attack and have an ability that change ownership of the surrounding unit to natural hostile.

add the natural wondering ability a unit that enters a region.

Thanks everybody for your help I think i got enough traps now... and they are cool! i just got some probelms: Where can i find a rolling boulder? What is the natural wondering doing?

Btw. i already made a memic (Monster in treasure chest)

natural wondering (i think) is the ability of all the critters, the unit cant stand still it is going to a random places in the map so it is kind of hard to control it and to fight with it.
