[Update:]The new points system has changed quite a bit (especially the part with no-one having any money) so untill then just positive rate anybody who hpshows examples of their work (and me too if your feeling generous ^_^ :D) Anyway, the Badger project is devoted to bringing all aspects of the badger badger song (found here) to WC3. I personally would like to make a map with these models, as will you, as all the entries will be available for public download. This is a competition, but basically the first person to do a high quality job will get the prize (though we'll give a bit of space for other artists to finish). Either send the points you want to donate to me, or easier way is just to post with how much you will be donating. First what needs done, and what the winner will recieve: The Badger The badger will need to be modelled, skinned, iconed and animated. The badger should be authentic to the style of the song, aka walk on two legs, look cartoony etc, a poly count of about the same as a normal unit would be great. One of its stand idle animations as well as its casting animation must be the "badger dance" animation, it will also need the usual stand, attack and death animations. Points will be distroibuted to the modeller/skinner/animator/icon maker in roughly a 9/6/6/1 ratio of about 7/10ths of the total prize amount. The Snake A badger style snake will also be required, with all the usual attack, stand, move, cast and death animations, along with a skin and an icon. Points will be distributed in the same way of the badger using the remaining 3/10ths of the total prize points. The Mushroom Whoever makes a good badgerbadgerbagder style mushroom will recieve a few leftover points, and our praise. Please post if your entering and any progress. Heres some links to the Unreal Tournament Badger, #1 #2 That bottom badger one looks best, something like that'd be great. :D :D :D ^_^ ^_^ |

I have a question...Will this badger be posted at the site for free download so anyone can use it? I sorta hope so, since I won't be able to help in this in any way, even though I wish I could... :( |

..Is this something you should get permission for? meh, I guess it doesn't matter. I'm on the job! :D EDIT: I need an idea for the attack anim |

How about a headbutt, dancing kick, or bodyslam. Just suggestions. |

haha, I've got this vision in my head of the badger just standing there while his head flies off his shoulders and hits the enemy. That'd be funny. I could do it that way, or would it be kinda stupid? I guess I could try and make him do a body slam, or a bicycle kick or something... But his walk anim right now is really cartoony, I think it looks hilarious, so I should keep with that look. It looks kinda like a n00b animator did it, but I assure you it's supposed to look like that. here's a screeny. Any comments/crits are welcome on the model and whatnot. |

Ahhh!!! Flying badger heads that's awesome! Muahahahaha!!! You are going to make a channel animation to do the dancing thing in the cartoon right? Looks good now, the head kinda looks like a cow's but thats alright. |

Hey looking nice, could use a bit more smoothing, and I think you should make him have less of a snout. As for attack animations hmmmm.... A paw swipe on would be good, maybe a headbut, but whatever. Have you done the dance animation? |

yeah the dance is done. he goes down and up 3 times for Stand 2, and twice for spell (with his arms slightly higher) I made the attack what I said above, with his head detaching and hitting the enemy. I decided to go with that kuz it got a laugh, and I think people who play your map will find it very unexpected, and therefore hilarious. So far, tho my favorite is the death anim. it lasts like 3 seconds (very long for a death anim) and he stumbles around a bit, shakes his fist at the sky, then falls over... with one leg still sticking straight up. I'm having some trouble with the decay anim, or I would have it posted already. And yeah, I'm going to fix his face. Sheyd. |

Y'know what? I really shouldn't have started this, I don't have the time. I did it kuz I thought it would just be a quick little thing, but it's already lasted like 3 days now. I'm sorry, but I've got to stop putting time into this. I'll put up what I've got so far, it may be all you need, but you might want to get someone to add anims or something. I dunno. I can give you the .max file if you want, just ask. So here it is. MDX, BLP, Icon and disabled Icon. The anims that I finished: Stand (very basic) Stand 2 (dance) Walk Attack (sorry just one attack) Spell Death I couldn't fix the problem I was having with the Decay anim, so I just removed it. I don't know what this will mean in-game... Meh, I guess since this is a contest anyway, I can just say this is my submission. But it doesn't look like anybody else wants to enter. oh well. Sheyd |

Were waiting for the points system to get back up and running, so we can offer point rewards, which is why we have little/no contestants. Ill check out you model, but I dont think its really at the stage where we would like it to be. |
