Ive tryed making merchants with the wander ability so their never in the same place twice, however, when a unit gets close to one, it becomes controlable by that player. is there anyway of overcoming this problem? |

Yes i think, give a merchant movement and the wanderer ability (to walk around like sheep) or do it woth triggers. That should work |

they usually dont go to far with wander though. |

i tried that, but when you go near any unit (building or not) that sells thing, mercinareis, items and so on, the become yours without changing couler, so if they arnt buildings, you can move them, tell them where to go, attack, ect i was wondering is there a way to fix this? |

you can make a trigger made merchant.. like if you select that wandering merchant guy a hidden merchant gets moved there and selected instead.... |

Make a merchant and make it walk from say A to B. at A use a trigger that turns him into a building or use the root ability. Let him stay there for a while then unroot him or turn him back to a unit and let him walk to somewhere else. Repeat, etc. You can use triggers like when unit enters region use ability,wait, use ability, walk to next region. |

This may or may not be some useless question from someone who is too lazy to look at Darky27's Circle Defense. I only say this becuase the 'wandering merchant' is exactly as Gitlich wants it to be. So I am just going to say, go to the Home Page, Yes you have to click the 'HOME' button, and download Darky27's Circle Defense. You will find the wandering merchant in there... Excuse me for any rudeness that might have appeared to arise in this post, I meant nothing. I am just angry that I have to deal with this crusty avatar. -Slayer |

Give the merchant guy a walking and the wander ability then make a trigger like this event- units comes within ___ of merchant action- have merchant learn ancient root ability make merchant use root unlearn ancient root change color and owner ship to triggering player i think that should work if that is what you want :D |

here is a map I made with the stuff u need to do it :D grr isnt uploading, keeps saying invaild file type but any way here is the trigger and what to do make a unit and give him these abilitys then make the following triggers -Wander -Shop Sharing -Shop purchase item -Invulnerable Region Events Time - Every 0.50 seconds of game time Conditions Actions Region - Center Region 000 <gen> on (Position of Blood Mage 0009 <gen>) Merchant Events Unit - A unit comes within 50.00 of Blood Mage 0009 <gen> Conditions Actions Unit - Add Root (Ancient Protector) to Blood Mage 0009 <gen> Unit - Order Blood Mage 0009 <gen> to Night Elf Ancients - Root (Center of Region 000 <gen>) Unit - Change ownership of Blood Mage 0009 <gen> to Player 1 (Red) and Change color Unit - Remove Root (Ancient Protector) from Blood Mage 0009 <gen> |

Umm... if you want the merchant to travel a set path, like in Darky27's Circle Defense, then open up his map and check it out. If you want to it to walk around aimlessly then every X number of seconds order him to walk to some random point on the map... or within the area that you designate for him. And then you can add more random stuff to decide how far he should move, how often he should change direction, or even if he should change direction at a given time. |

I agree with you link, just look at darkys map...im looking at it right now...hell ive been looking at it since i got it lol, and i agree with you that the new avatars are really really really gay...so are points...I JUST BOUGHT MY NEW COLOR NAME and the forums get changed...that pissed me off...o ya the NE skin is gay too, i dont like it at all...Just thought i should throw that in too. |
