How does the new points system work?

What changes have been made to the points system, specifically besides wiping everyones points? It was said on the front page that "you will find out what it is based on soon enough" but Im assuming that means you wont make a news post about it. Anyone have any info/ideas? Or is it just 1 post=1point?

Bleh points should be directly related to the number of characters per post. Say 1000 per point or something like that.

Just get the server stable first...

If this is a joke, it's not very funny. We don't need you crying about some points. We are fixing other things at the moment, and the point system will be turned on shortly.

no its not a joke, but its still kinda frustrating when the only answer we get is "we will explain x feature soon". Its not like their is a reason youre witholding information, so why are you? thats whats getting me upset.

but truthfully, the upgrade is kinda nice

as long as the points will be given bak, there shouldn't be any arguments or protesting going on....

I think its more the fact that we lost everything we bought in the store (a good ole 1100 points for me), all our remaining points (700 for me) in exchange for a slower site that give us "Server Busy" messages at intervals. We also got a search feature that barely works, and being told "You'll find out about x soon enough". I don't see how withholding that info has any merit or use at all. I repeact the site is being upgraded, but leaving the members in the dark is the worst thing you could have done. Although I like some things about the upgrade, so far the bad has far outwieghed the good. I mean no ofence to anyone, but this is my opinion. Take it however you like.

The point system isnt entirely set in stone, so telling you anything now would probably end up being wrong later.

I wouldnt mind everyones points being set back to 0, the old system had way to much cash going around, a more simplified post=1 point, thread with X+ views=X points, and every so many downloads=X points. Though points for views wuld be nice to have.

1- Server is busy because of the tweaks, upgrades, and finishing touches they are making. Every SINGLE forum EVER to upgrade that I've seen went through it. It will run faster than ever soon. Server Busy is when they shut it down to add an update.

2- The old point system was abused, and overinflated, so they are making a new system. Too bad you lost your points, everyone did. Noone cares, atleast they will have a value now.

3- We've always had the search.

4- He is not releasing any information about points because he most likely hasn't came to a final decision. He is revamping points because of spammers in both the forums and DL sections. He doesn't want to see plans to abuse it before it is created.

Stop giving the admin such a hard time, jesus without them u wouldn't even have the site so stop complaining about points when ur lucky to hae the site.

I took a serious hit, i lost maby a 1200 points. I had some in the user bank(which dissapered along with my 900pts) and 200 with me.

As long as i get them back i dont care what draco or anybody does/says. New point system......great i guess, i'm just looking to get paid.

But the site looks friggin awsome! I think it's a huge improvement from the old lame version. Good work Draco, seriously. I dunno, right when most WC3 things where getting old and tired you redo the site and give it a new look. Pretty cool.
Just one thing though, Avatars.....you gotta be kidding. Farm animals?
