okay, i recently got Wings 3D and i learned the ropes and got the hang of it a bit. now.. i want to put it into wc3. There is a built in eXporter on it that lets you export strait to mdl. my question is... Is that the same MDL that i need to convert it to, to convert it to mdx using Yobguls file converter? Thx a bunch for your help. :8 |

No. Export the model as .obj. There is a program to convert .obj tp .mdx. (got no idea where is that program) |

Well, then i don't know, theres another converter but that converts MDX to OBJ and i don't know if it'll work backwards. For me i got a copy of milkshape and use that and wings together. |

If you are new to modelling you shouldn't be using DaishiOfDeath's OBJ -> .MDX Converter. It messes up TVertices (UVwrap), so the skin either won't wrap properly or may appear invisible in-game. It has some bugs and glitches besides that, so I recommend you don't use it. Maybe try to download Gmax (a free lite version of 3ds max), and get DeX' exporter. Then export your models from wings and import them in Gmax (if you don't like modelling in Gmax), and then export using DeX. Remember to convert the geoset(s) to mesh(es) before exporting. Hope it helps! |

Im guessing that, thats after you have used the 'Dex script, and where you have the .mdl of your model in front of you. And you change properties in there? sorry, im dumb, dont read this... |

If you model in new parts, or have detached a part those parts becomes seporate GEOsets. If you model in other than mesh (like poly, or likewise) you have to convert the GEOset(s) to mesh. |

Don't use Wings. Unless you are ling in triangles, not quads, the polys will double when ingame. Also, there is no able freeware animater to get s ingame. The obj\3ds - mdx doesnt convert animations. The only way to get something ingame is export directly to mdl, change pathfiles, and mdl - mdx. |

with daishiofdeath's converter, just flip your skin vertically and it'll wrap fine... |
