Updating submissions

Not really getting any response on this one.. asked at a couple of occasions now, and I still like to know;
What's the deal on updating submissions? Is one to just resubmit an updated version of an older submission (like a fixed and tweaked model to replace an old one), or what?
I have right now posted an update in a thread at the related forum, but since threads have a way of just disappearing when not replied to enough (and I don't expect every downloader to comment on it), that'll probably just work as a temporal solution.
Any moderator or so having an anwser on this one?

You can't update your files at the momment, maybe later on it will be posible, untill then if you want to update your file, submit your new version and send me a pm with a link to the older version so I can remove it.

There's no harm done if you don't want to send a pm though, but your old versions will get deleted sooner or later anyway.
