Hello, guys! Well, I really wanted to know how to transfer an animation from a model to another: all my attempts failed. I was trying to transfer the paladin's dissipate anim into another model, but I don't know what to do... Could anyone help me?

Yeah, MadLion said he would post a tutorial on transfer animation, but he seems to have other things to do. And all the threads that try to explain how to do are unclear or incomplete. Hope we will soon get a real good one, like the one on adding hero glow (though I suspect transfering animations must be way harder, even with a tut).

I read somewhere that he won't be making it, somebody convinced him that helping noobs is no good... The problem is that even experienced people can't do this, and without noobs to learn how to do things, the community will soon be extiguished... :<

This guy who thought sharing knowledge was bad because any noob would be posting things like "I FOUND OUT HOW TO TRANSFER GRUNT'S ANIMATIONS !!!!!!!" ? Well I'm a noob myself and I think it is the price to pay if you want new talents to emerge more easily. I'm also the kind of people who prefer to do thinks myself if I can (there will already be too many different credits in my campaign if it is ever released), so I realy need to find such a tutorial.

i think they would be more inclined if you had previouse experiance with such things as geomerging, model editing, and basic understanding of an MDL. My suggestion, make a portfolio, just work on simple stuff, ask friends if they need anything, try try and try. Man i could do an animation transfer if i knew a bit more about mdl's i'm so close!!!! ggrr!! if only andy would put up more of his exploring an mdl.

ggrr theres no edit button, this means i have to double post >< if i were you guys i would explor what you can do inside the mdl's for instance try seeing what it takes to delete part of a model, get a modelling program and compare coordinates, learn how to read an mdl. Then when you post your questions, you'll already understand what they are telling you to do. Though i haven't attempted an animation transfer myself, i think you replace the animations under the geosets with the animations from another and make sure that at the top all the keysets are CnP accordingly, though i'm not sure what we would have to change that would require redoing objectID's
