well, if anyone likes the idea, i'll propose it in the staff forum... My idea is to simply, under Posts and Points have a "User Rating" based off of dl-section submittions, attachment-ratings, etc. Ofcourse, this could be abused... which would require a new system, or have the rates be mod-only... This could easily distinguish the helpful members from the lamers! How it will be judged: 30% goes to spam-to-useful post ratio 30% goes to code/map/art/etc work 30% goes to usefulness (for instance, dl section, tuts, good crits, etc) 10% goes to a popular rating (as in, non-mod-vote in their profile) This way, for instance, say "Fred" is a great modeller Fred spams that everyone else's models suck arse a lot, gives no crits, and gives nothing to the community, yet his models are the best... Fred would most likely get a 45% or so... etc. Anyways, good idea or am I a rambling old fool? |

I like it, but I think Fred should only get 30%. It would take alot of work for the mods to make up scores for all the active members... Other than that, great idea. :D |
