Hey, this is my first time posting here. Tried to put it in the correct spot, but anywho. I made a skin of the marine, and turned him into a SWAT members, and everythign went well. Then, I skinned a rifleman into a terrorist, and when I did the exact same stuff he came out completely red. Half of his body was also cut off.. so it looked like a floating red head with a cape :P If anyoen can help me I'd really appriciate it. :) Thanks alot,
Asti :8

There is some problem with alpha layer (or i think so).

One of my spellbreaker skin became completely red for some reason.Dunno why it happens but it happened allways when i colored certain areas...or when i edited alpha layer. I hope you have back up because i allways had to use back up file.

he said he was newb at this so alpha layers kinda throw him off and confuse him

they mean to check ur alpha layers because u proly modified the alpha channels when u painted, which led to the rifleman's messup

The alpha channels are corrupt do this to fix them.

Get a new tga from the mpq (save it as "NewRifleman.tga")
Open your skin "OldRifleman.tga" and new "OldRifleman.tga" in PSP
Copy and Paste "OldRifleman.tga" onto "NewRifleman.tga"
You may need to sent opacity to 99%. Then flatten layers. Save "NewRifleman.tga" and convert. It should be fixed.

Wait, if i put the old rifleman over new, and opacity to 99, wouldnt that still cover up "alpha channels" and make it bugged? Ill give it a try once i get home. Tuesday or so. Thanks

The alpha channel is uh on a different channel then the regular skin. You just need the default alpha channel from the original skin cuz your skin got corrupted. I have no idea why it happens but it happens to all of us.

i thought a white skin was alpha problems, and a red skin was when there was no skin file at all. I'd know this since I scale my models in wc3viewer before I skin them.

If its just the team-color areas showing and not the full model, its aplha... he was rather unclear in explaining his problem..
