Please vote on the best point of what you saw in this demo. This poll is to show what was the most important part of it.

We know that on the last poll, people mainly vote for Storyline rather than Battle and Visual.

I vote for ...

Terrain.
Terrain is a key thing that makes any map wonderful. I love how you did the town, and I said before that it gave me a distinct Chrono Cross feeling. A tingling of rememberance, I suppose. It was very cool to wander around the town.
The environment was great, as were the battle scene environments!

SUGGESTIONS:

A) Create Fog Of War around the "houses", "shops", and other places when you're "in" them. To make it appear that you're "inside" something.

B) Make the Camera Pan for the buildings map 0.0, so it doesn't pan over EVERYTHING to get to where the player entered.

Great job on it so far, though! Keep up the good work!

Hmm, I think the battles are the most important thing in the demo (i think there won't be the same results when the final HeroRPG version is out and you make the same vote) but I also loved the terrain, the well-used cameras, the nice music (though it's from FF or somewhere else) and the atmosphere of this world! :D

How are we supposed to choose just one? It's so hard, the choices...

I guess the battle system, since it works so perfectly and is the most original thing i saw; the way you organized the maps was awesome too!!

I've been working on remaking the city(for best or worse) and the best thing is that the normal bulding are in the same map, no more stupid loading. Tho if you notice, Knight of the old republic has the same problem so it was not only me. :)

I must have forgotten to pan without waiting after a load. Easily fixed.

tingling of rememberance... dont u mean nastalgia?

anyways... the battle thing is awsome! maybe varie the battle arena's, you kinda overused/underused the grass tufts, and the forest thing was confusing, i didnt see the tiny alcove thing, i had to click on the minimap and scroll around, but the camera thing was stubborn, but i still looked around the map and stuff till i found the cave/alcove/other thing

Terrain is the best thing. If the terrain isnt good the whole map sucks..

Much of this map is hard to choose between, but I eventually went with the battle system. The terrain and everything is awesome, but like Shadow_Strike said, it was tough to find out which way you were supposed to go in the forest. Perhaps the king or the captain person (sry forget his name) could tell you something like 'The villager that brought him/me here came from the southern village of X. It's closeby, so maybe you should go there to begin your investigation.' Or something like that. It would really help out. Or maybe even a little minimap ping where your supposed to go so people don't end up going to the topleft corner, clicking around in the minimap 'cause they're frustrated, and eventually grumbling the whole way back to that inconspicuous little exit. Other than that the demo rules! Can't wait for the final product!
(Oh yeah, and just a little continuity error here, when the king is telling you about the bandits, the DH in the picture has the regular skin in stead of the custom one you have; just thought I'd point that out.)

I really loved the battle scenes, without a doubt the best part.

I would suggest using another model for the bandit lord..its just demon hunter dosnt scream bandit lord to me, and making a demon hunter look human has only been achieved one in the D.o.C defender of Azeroth skin (which was unfortunately lost)

The Terrain was very nice, the second best aspect.

Triggers were of course essentially good.

The stroyline was actually dull, and did not intrigue me, as an RPG storyline should, unless it gets better along the way. ( i guess ff7's storyline didnt start out all to interesting, but towards the end...oh boy.)

Characters also werent too impressive.

Language was the worst thing about it, i suggest whipping out a dictionary/someone with good linguistic (sp?) ksills ot help you out.

I voted for terrain because in the demo it really shined, and for some reason the town reminded me a lot of FF7 slums, even though its in a forest...

But the battle system was also awesome, except i would make it so you right arrow instead of hit esc when you attack to make it easier, or at least something closer to the arrow keys.

I loved how people would talk, it really gave the game an awesome vibe, and I think the forest would be better off with some treasure chests or something, and make the path more obvious.

All in all, I am still in awe of its greatness.

:D This map ROCKS!!!!!! :D Your battle system, the cinematics. WOW!!!!!
I'm heavenly impressed. I have been creating a final fantasy 7 RPG that was suposed to be the best but when i saw yours my jealousy went up.
If you guys aren't planning a FF project i could use some help. ^_^
