Fog, rain, etc.

How do I make it rain on my map? And are there any other effects besides rain that are possible?

Make a region, and then use a action trigger called:

Enviroment - Create Weather effect
and assign a varible to it so you can canle it later
(this can be used with the random timer trigger to call rain on the entire map or sumthing.)

OR

make a region, edit the regions propeties, click the special effect box and choose rain/wind/fog/snow/exct...

If you used triggers be advised your map will no longer be considered melee. Best to go with the editing region properties.

Fear.Factor: Last I checked, 99% of the questions in here were about triggers, so I don't think that's a big worry -- besides, the editor will inform them just in case.

I have tried doing just that to make the weather effects to my maps but it wont work! For example if u do the region thing it only shows up in the WE not in-game...

detail settings, i belive if you have it on medium, weather effects are turned off. I know they are defantly off at low detail

Where do I change the Detail settings at? Im not sure where its at so i dont know where to change them at

You cant do it while ur playing i think but in the main menu choose >>Options>>Video Settings then u shoúld find the detail setting

ok heres wut u do.......make a region were u want the weather effects, then right click on the name of ur region on the right (it might be some were else on urs) then cheack off the box that says weather effects then look at the list of diffrent weather effects and then choose wut effect u want to use

i know how to do it works in the WE but not ingame cuz of my detail settings...

Dakan how would I go about making a random weather timer? That is, how would i make the random rain effect?

Also how exactly do I have certain weather effects to turn on and a certian time and then turn off at another time in certain regions?
