Guest | Ok. I've spent a lil time flippin though the book. (good ol signed one ;) ) I've got something of a campaign idea, that would need to be done quick cuz its following in the heels of the storyline of WC3. There are a few loose ends to tie up at the end of WC3 (naturally, blizzard might just want to make an expansion ;) ). The largest, well to me anyway, is the fact that the Lich King lives. Arthas lives. Anyway on to the actual story(btw, it requires you read the backstory): After the destruction of Archimonde, and the loss of the tree of life, the races of Azeroth are forced to forge a peace with each other, in order to attempt to salvage what is left of their world. Together, the 3 leaders of their races, Thrall of the Orcish horde, Stormfurion of the Night Elves, and Jaina of the Humans, pledge their forces together, creating the "New Alliance"(working name ). This new alliance, combining the intelligence of the Elves, the magic of the Humans, and the strength of the orcs, made quick work pushing back the remnants of the Scourge that had occupied Lorderon. Within a year, they had pushed the undead far past Quel'thelas, before they simply vanished. The peace that followed was uneasy, but enough to lull the world back into a state of contentment. Until the familiar killings began anew.Unknown to the races on the main continent, one more key piece of the puzzle had begun reconstructing his forces as well. Ner'zhul, now freed with the defeat of his demonic captors, had begun work on freeing himself from his icy Northrend prison. Through his vast consciousness that flowed through each undead entity, he had become aware of an ancient artifact, the Pendant of Khadgar. With this pendant, Ner'zhul could effectively transfer his consciousness into a new host, and finish the job of conquering the world of man, a task he began so long ago. Only knowing the existence of this object, Ner'zhul began again reaching far out with his consciousness, searching for anyone who would know of this item. What answered back was something even he never expected, and exactly what he could use. After the great sundering, and the destruction of the High-Borne and the original well of eternity, the Maelstrom was created. Placed between the continents of Kalimdor and Lorderon, it centered upon the original position of the Well of Eternity, and the subterranean resting place of a being who had lived off of pure hatred for the creatures living above her. Queen Azshara, the original abuser of the Well, and the original pawn in Sargeras' bid for dominion over Azeroth, had survived the Sundering, and had remained isolated from all contact, until the tendrils of Ner'zhul's psychic powers had awoken even her. Basically: Pretense: Ner'zhul wants to free himself, and take over the world. (normal badguy stuff:gsmile:) He has to find the "Pendant of Khadgar" to do this, and find a suitable host. In searching for this pendant, he accidentally contacted Queen Azshara(another baddie), and decides to release her as she may be of use. Game:Split up into 4 1/2 chapters. Actual length of chapters is unknown, this is still in an obviously conceptual phase. It is a HUGE project. Path is as follows: UD:Release Queen Azshara (fight some ancient guardians while yer at it )NE:Investigate the Undead sightings around towns (its about the pendant at this point, you fight and kill KelThuzad, but he sends the pendant to Ner'zhul) Orc:Investigate the disconnection with Quel'thelas (Azshara takes over the high elves because as anyone knows the high elves are the descendents of the HighBorne. Dragons aid in this attack, even though they really really hate them orcs. Alexstrasza herself informs thrall of whats going on here. Human:With knowledge of the whole plot, Jaina takes the fleet her daddy used to own and proceeds off to Northrend to set up while the other races recollect their forces. (when there, fight to final level outside of fortress, which culminates in battle between Jaina and Arthas 0_o ) Finale:Using all 3 races, fight a final battle against the Lich King and his forces. Lich king manages (of course) to turn into his host, you fight, you win, then ride off into the sunset.8) So whaddya think? I believe a strong storyline is what can make a game, so thats what I started with. There are a lot of tweaks i think should be made to all the races, to somewhat show the differences after the destruction of the tree, the passage of time, the unions of the forces (raiders get horses for example :D). I also want to add in some new heroes as well (including a new love for Jaina0_o), and of course new abilities/spells. Anyway, give me some feedback. if you think this is a good idea, say so, i love flattery :D if you think it sucks, say so, but tell me why at least, im very sensitive:(. I am serious about wanting to create this, but I will need massive amounts of help to do it. And I highly doubt Ill get that help. If youve got a whole crew together and want to take this idea and run with it, tell me about it first. Id like to flesh the rest out. One big problem with this, as with any mods that follow the WC3 storyline is that the expansion could come out and contradict this whole thing. Or even worse it gets it right dead on and I get sued :P So, even if you dont think you can help, rate the idea, so I have an idea where I stand with the rest of the mod-crews. -SrCowie :ggani: |

Destruction of the tree of life... the World Tree? I definitely don't know where this comes in in comparison to WC3 but if it's just after the NE campaign I don't think the World Tree was destroyed. And "the races of Azeroth." Each of the races has their own homeland... like the Undead are Northrend for instance... But all in all its a good idea. The finale though is just like all the other blizzard finales, you get all but one of the races whom you're fighting, and then against all possible odds you must defeat the enemy. |
