I know i've been making a few of these threads, but I am pumping this stuff out for practice so here is another. This one is NOT drawn by me *I wish it was...*, it was done by Jacinthe and I just did the lineart and coloring which dont justify the true beauty of the picture. Anyhow, this is one hour, Photoshop, mouse. C&C please.

P.S: It is for the project Secret of Nuestune.
P.P.S: My first attempt at coloring clothing and fur.

is that suppose to be something like a sorceress werewolf?

the coloroing on the cloth is good, but i dont like the fur. i dont know what advice i should give to you about the fur.

It is a woman in middle of transforming into a werewolf.

Aww, you covered some of her furry breast that was exposed! ^^

I recommend adding more highlights and shadows in general, and maybe adding some "furry" texture to the... fur... with a fine brush. Not too much, just some lighter furries on the bright areas, and a little darker furries in the shadowy areas.

EDIT: For reference, it's usually a good idea to ask permission and assure the artist ego that you will be giving full credits on your site/project if you decide to use their art, or want to colour it. ^^ S'okay in this instance, but for future reference.

yes.. you have to ask permission!!

and i think you shouls have done the lines with a fine brush instead of the pencil... pincil makes it look jagged. as for the pics coloring, try adding some diffrent tones of green to the dress, and try shading a little more and keep in mind that, knowing its a werewolf transformation, it is happoning at night so you would have light coming from only one side and darker , much darker shading. try making a background with a full mooon and some pine trees while yar at it :D

Sorry Jacinthe! Shadow gave me the picture and I thought you already confirmed that I was allowed to color it. Ill try and add the background along with more shades. (and the furry breast :\ )

what i do if i want to shade a night scene, is use the shades on another layer that is set to 'multiply', and then color with dark blue or purple, gives a real nightish feel ;)

I just got lost as to which faerie dragon was talking... not good.

Well, I would have to say that is pretty nice... For the fur... go in and use very fine strokes... or use Jac's method that she uses for hair... ask her for that... I can't remember what it is.

I wouldnt mind knowing that at all :> . Anyhow, I gave a shot at the night scene. ALSO my first attempt at enviorments, lol. Now a breast is revealed, didnt add nipple and reveal other because this is meant for minimap. Besides, it would probably lifelong scar some people...

If you're going to use it in a map... then you most definitely need permission. The not revealing thing is ok... but considering some of the other stuff that appears on bnet... I'd say yours is very modest.

Jac... please enlighten us with your hair shading method.

To repeat what I said earlier, I already thought permission was given.

great light, it allready looks a lot better with the background included. now you need to create the illution that that wolf is part of the background! what i would advice you to is to make some shadings underneath the feet of the wolf, this is a simple trick to merge pick and background.

i also would advice you to make some darker shadings with blue or purple, and some highlights from where the light is coming.

Dear gods, I didn't mean that much breast. >.< Keep in mind this IS a portrait of my best friend's character, I don't want her to turn into a skanky dog woman.

I attached a thingy that shows you where the rips ought to go... Sorry for not allowing you complete artistic license with my picture, but consider it Shadow's fault for filching it in the first place.

As for how I colour hair... eh. >.< Kind of hard to just describe. I'd colour it all one colour, then go in with shadows and then darker shadows, then highlights (higher saturation, too), and then even paler near-white highlights... then add a bit of bright colour near the highlights... like if it's brown hair, I'd add reddish or golden colour (just a bit) near the white highlights... if it's black I might add bluish highlights... etc. =\ Then either use the paintbrush or smudge to add that consistency hair has... the streaks.

That really wouldn't work too hot on fur, though...
