no, Gmax does not support Wc3 officially, but there are third party scripts and plugins available that allows people, in a limited degree, to export their work out into mdx format.

HOWEVER, do not expect a plug and play script; it was still in development (till the art tool was released, then the progress has all stopped) and it required alot from the user. He must be able to mdl edit, know how to fix the matrices etc. Not to mention you might encounter vertex exceed limit problems. It didnt churn out a mdx either,; you had to CnP all the lines from the log into a mdl etc.

If you want my advise, I wouldnt recommend Gmax at all if you going to use it to create models for wc3 and for future games (maybe SC 2?). Its export limitations are horrible , uv wrapping is a bitch (you need lithunwrap, a additional pay to use proggie) and no render options. If you are able to "obtain" a version of 3d studio max (prior 6 regarding wc3, max 6 does NOT work with art tools) the better.

However, for the casual user it is probably usefull....in a certain degree....able to edit models (but then it requires a long curve of learning to do simple geoset merges)
