Kinda good, but a lil' too thick lines for my taste and the legs looks reversed...
Exellent shading tho :D

looks good. only 2 crits are the lines are too uniform/thick and the face doesnt look feminine... at all. NE women have a inborn beauty, all of them, there aint no ugly ducklings among them, so maybe make the face softer, the eyebrows longer and hair colored, etc. but everything is great... esp the backround. its kinda subtle, you have to look to see the detail, but if you do look, its worth it.

Looks freakin' sweet, a little dark on the one with the background though (it can be dark and still have contrast you know).

I think the background is too blank. Theres nothing in there but some goofy face.. I prefer the original one!

question related to this... would it be possible to do a regular day time backround with a bright character and such and use a semitransparant layer (maybe dark blue or dark purple or a gradient useing both) to make that day scene instantly night? then you could keep all the realism of the detailed day, just with less light?

You should make the backgroud bright. Its too dark and you cant see the details.

ok. draw a daytime scene (without obvious giveaways like a sun, there isnt a sun at night), color it in with plenty of detail.

put your char, just normal and everything in the layer above the scene. this you already know.

then, create a new layer, probably transparant to begin with so you can just choose a color in this next step (bear with me at this point).

after the layer is created, fill that new layer in with a really dark blue, or a similarly dark purple (i know it blocks out everything right now, but that will be corrected).

then right click on the newly colored layer and go to blending options. adjust the opacity of the layer until it looks right. You may have to go back and adjust the base color of your night filter (you dont have to undo the opacity though)

Im not sure how well this will work, but you lose nothing by trying it you can also add a few stars on the night filter layer or maybe add some moonlight on the same layer, but its more adaptable because it isnt on the same layer as your actual art. I hope this works and that it is a little more clear what i mean

i lied earlier in one of my steps. in order to properly do night effects like the moon and stars, you need a fully opaque top layer that is filled in with a 80% opaque fill. when you make the new layer, make it transparant and at full opacity. then select a blue or purple that is almost black, set the FILLS opacity to 80% and fill in that new layer. Now you can still make fully opaque stars or a realistic moon.

sorry count, but you are VERY wrong. if you take a dayscene and just put a color layer over it it'l look HORRIBLY wrong. what you could try in photoshop, is adjust the colors, that MIGHT maybe give a good effect, but i dont think so. if you want to draw a nightscene, the only way to do it effectively is to.. start it out as a night scene.

and DL, i think its a good pic i allready told you that. they just cant appriciate the VERY cartoony style. i cant appriciate an NE with a gun... but i wont bitch about that anymore, its a good pic.

the nightime scene needs diffrent shading though... and some moonhighligts for better contrast and coolness.
