Guest | Hi Folks! Can somebody help me with my prob? I just wanna make a button for the arch mage which allows him to learn blizzard level 4 when reaching a hero level higher tahn 10, for example 15 or sth like this (just because level 15 works fine :ggani: ). everytime i try to make this damned research button for my lv 4 blizzard, it disappears after learning lv 3. if i give the ability to my arch mage as a starting ability (i.e.: start level: 11, all abilities highest level, containing blizzard lv 4), it works fine, also including my blizzard setup (bigger damage radius, more damage, bigger distance...). i could get mad with this s**t. if anybody can help, plz post, Otacon_2k |

Sounds like an advanced map. As of the latest patch editing of SLKs and TXTs has been greatly stripped, so thats probably one reason your spell won't work. I don't ever recall seeing anything above level 3, so if you can pull it off, you = the man. |

As far as I can tell nothing has been stripped -- just preload your files. And singleplayer campaigns can just bypass the patch mpq. |

Guest | which wc3 version are you all using? just cause i use 1.0 (too lazy for update :gsmile: ) and just wonder if my maps are playable by players with the 1.02 (or 1.03?) patch. So you think, if i CAN make a spell more than level3 i'm good? |

Yes they'd be playable, otherwise the maps made during 1.00 (which, if you all remember, wasn't ever used during the games existance; It was patched to 1.01 before it even came out) wouldn't be working. The thing is adding files to the maps is getting more and more ****ed and not working as much with the new patches coming out. |

Guest | oh, sorry, i didn't know that thing with version 1.01 as release version, just because my wc shows version 1.0 in the main menu. what are the changes with importing files? as importing files into my maps works very fine, i'd like to know what's different in other versions. |

Guest | Acctually, it is quite easy I think, by the use of triggers and skill editing. Make a trigger so if a unit gets a level3 blizzard, replace unit with another. For example If a blademaster reaches level <Inut custom level, for this we use 10) replace blademaster with blademaster2(The one withn the "overpowered skills"(just use a certain amount of random skill to morph into a higher blizzard), which you make custom. Use the skill editing turtoil for this", and use the level 10 stats from the original unit on this custom unit(which will take testing). After you do this, do the skill thing, only do the skill thing AFTER because World Edit terminates custom skills. If someone understands this then please put it in simplest terms ^_^ |
