I colored the frosty... tell me what you think of my technique... and any suggested changes. I DID NOT DRAW THE FROST WYRM... AZNWHORE DREW IT... NOT ME... I JUST COLORED IT WITH HIS PERMISSION. I like the way I color... it looks more like how I think... and although it doesn't look really professional. I like it... any suggestions? icbm1987 |

It looks like you've used a wacom... With other means, I cannot judge it although it looks nice :D (Why don't I have a wacom? *sniff* WHYYY??? *sob, sniff, sob*) |

what are tablets? whats a wacom? are they small pads which you use a special pen to draw on and itll automatically go into the computer? |

Nice energy in the sketchy colouring. The icy glow is pretty interesting, too. I still feel it's a bit too messy, even for that loose, textured style. ;( |

yeah... I was kinda at a loss for how to texture the wings... and that's what happened... I was trying to do it like the striker pic in my gallery. I'm happy Jac responded... DO YOU SEE WHAT JAC WROTE? THAT IS A GOOD CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENT!!! icbm1987 |

so far.. i agree w/ jac. it does look kinda sloppy. but nothing a little blending/coloring in the lines wouldnt fix. the thumbnail looks better then the actual pic. i guess its b/c when its not zoomed in, you cant see that u went out of the lines a bit, and it seems more detailed. |

blending=evil... so there... and I can never get it right when I blend. It's the wings though... isn't it... or does the body have the same type of mess... It has to be the wings.. I'll try something else later. icbm1987 |

as the above comments said, i think it looks a little hasty/sloppy in the coloring. The wings need to be more unified in thier color, less variety in shades (unless you are shading for folds or whole and such, but those things should be clearly defined in that case) Part of the issue is that im not very fond of the base lineart. i would suggest kinda starting over, cleaning up the line art (adding the distincive features of a frost wyvern) and then taking more time to color it using more uniform colors. do you have a wacom or are you using a mouse? either way i would use the fill tool to lay down some base colors before you start going brush stroke crazy There! now you have some constructive comments... more than just "Its ok... i guess" :D [EDIT: one thing i noticed... is it just me or does the wyvern look like a skeletal mutalisk from starcraft with a reptile skull?] |

Carigon... if you say Frost wyvern one more time... I swear I will kill you. It is a Frost WYRM!!! thanks for the comments... I would agree that the wings are were the biggest problem is... Aznwhore just didn't add many of the folds... and so it looked weird... as well as the fact that it was missing the "finger" bones within the wing. The alternative Wyrm he drew was a nice concept... and I did remind me of the mutalisk. icbm1987 |
