You've probably seen them in many custom maps. A tips system. Every 20 seconds or so, a tip pops up with random How To play info. How do I make such a Tips system? I don't know how to randomized things in Worldedit. Thanks in advance. :) |

create a String array variable (lets call it STRING) make a trigger to set the tips set STRING[1] to Tip1:blah blah blah set STRING[2] to Tip2:blah blah blah set STRING[3] to Tip3:blah blah blah . . how many you want... make a second trigger to play the tips, every 60 seconds of game time chat message to all players STRING[random numer beetween 1 and 'how many tips you want' done... |

Well, from what I hear, random integer isn't all the random. Another way is every 60 seconds display tipstring[A], where A starts at 1 and each time increases by 1, so it displays tip 1, 2, 3, and if it reaches a certain number [above how many tips u have], it resets A to 1. Not random... but still tips. |

Well, those are good tip systems, but not really random. You sure there isn't a way to randomly display these? I've made a variable named TIPSTRING, gave it a String Array Size of 50 (for 50 different tips), and made the trigger to set the TIPSTRING[q] to this and that, TIPSTRING[2] To that and this.. etc.. You guys sure there's no way to randomly display these? Edit: W00T! Never mind, I figured it out! Thanks folks! |
