Tavern Help.

Hello,
I have been working on a new map, but I am having a heck of a time adding custom heroes to the tavern and having them work properly.

On all of them I have changed:

Stats-Race = Creep
Stock Max = 1
Stock Replenish Interval = 0
Stock Start Delay = 135
Techtree Require = Any Altar
" " Tier 2 = Any Tier 2 Hall, Any Altar
" " Tier 3 = Any Tier 3 Hall, Any Altar
Tiers Used = 3
Tooltip-Basic = Summon "blablabla"

Then I went into the Gameplay Constants and added my Heroes to:

Techtree-Dependency Equivalents - Hero

Everything works great BUT, it treats the Tavern like an Altar in the way that you can build 2 from your Altar and 2 more from the Tavern. :( They are not being counted as "your" Heroes, like you own a second race. Also, when the new Heroes are purchased they do not deduct from the Tavern. You can keep buying the same one over again.

And just another side question, Is there any way to edit the single player campaign maps without them crashing? I change the slightest thing and get "File not found or corrupt." Is there a shortcut parameter or something to disable verification?

Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with heros in a map I had done. What I did was totally redo the heros by making a custom hero and basing it off one of the ones that can already be hired (exp: Pit Lord, Naga Sea Witch, Beastmaster). Once I did this, everything worked fine for me.

As with the other question regarding editing the single player campaigns, I can't help you. I don't know, sorry.

I'm not sure what you want to achieve.

Do you want a custom race, that has heroes available only at their altar.

Or do you want custom heroes that anyone can hire at a Tavern?

In the latter, they can be restored at your own Altar when they die anyway.

Yes, I want custom heroes that anyone can hire at a Tavern.
When you buy a custom Hero though, its not counting against your regular Heroes at Altar, and they do not deduct from the Tavern. You can keep buying the same Hero over and over again.

P.S. Is that the Arthas mod you posted on the Flying Builders TA:K site? Looks great.

My God, you know that site? What's your name on there?

I was formerly Tenaka Khan_UA amongst many other names.

Same name. :> I have been there for a while, but I rarely ever post. I think I only really have one thread on there. Love TA:K, and actually it was when I saw your models that I looked into tinkering with WC3. :D

ThyFlame: I have my new Hero's Tier values set as the same as the rest of the normal Heroes in the Tavern. Here is the thing though; They have to be labeled as Creeps for race, like the rest of the Tavern Heroes I beleive, but instead of them being in the same folder as the rest of the Tavern Heroes in the editor (Neutral Passive/Melee/Units/Heroes), they are under Neutral Passive/campaign/Heroes. I think this has something to do with it.
I think that the problem I am having now has to do with the actuall Tavern stats (or rather getting things into the Neutral Passive/Melee/Units/Heroes folder). I have tried everything else I can think of, but I can't seem to find the Tavern options.

Also, do you know of any way to change the single player campaign maps without them crashing Whitehorn?

Load up 'Monolith.w3x' in Maps/Frozenthrone/Custom and you'll find this note:

Quote:
In order to make the 'Player - Limit Training Of Heros' action work for custom heros, I added all of them to the 'Techtree - Dependency Equivalents' list for the Naga Sea Witch in the Object Editor. This works because there is a special techtree code ('HERO') for which all standard heros are dependency equivalents, and this code is used for the 'Limit Training Of Heros' function. If a custom hero is added as a dependency equivalent of any standard hero (the choice of the Naga Sea Witch here was arbitrary), they will also be considered equivalent to the 'HERO' code.

Excellent, I will try it as soon as I get home.
Thanks again!
