Terrain seems to be my thing for the time being, seen as how my project has all but died I now resort to being picked up by some other campaign that needs terrain work... heres something I tossed together just today, no it is not finished I've seen a couple things I need to tweak in it already but here are 2 ss... yes I know they have the grid in them I forgot to take it our before I shot them in my we... and it needs some birdies...and a sky hahaha but hey it's not done I've spent about 2, 2 n a half hours on it.

I was going to add a fog with a tint of blueish gray in, the enviornmental w/e I can't spell it hahaha doodads are coming in, yes I know, some of the tables are slightly off, so there are a few spots where they seperate but hey... who says they knew how to make a floor perfectly? Also... I have not done terrain in like a year so stfu. Honestly I think I did pretty good for such a short ammount of time put into it. Besides... forests arn't my specialty... undead citys and orc encampments and such are.

Are you sure Vilkacis was trying to denounce your terrain? I didn't even know what he meant by his comment. Maybe he's talking about the grid-lines?

As for my own comments on your terrain, I think your screenshots are pretty good. I hate the wooden walkways, however. Other than handicap-ramps down the beach, who uses wooden roads for transportation?! Haha, otherwise, it all looks pretty good. Take more screenshots with no gride-lines, fog, sky, and other improvements you deem fit.

You're off to a good start, keep it up.

EDIT- Perhaps with your wooden roads, you were aiming to make something like Beam's 'Tree-village' or an Ewok village from StarWars. If so, I guess I misinterprated your concept. However, those wooden roads (or bridges, whatever they might be) just seem a little too close to the ground.

Yes well, usen umswe I'd love to make them just slightly higher but oh no... it has to shoot them 50000 feet into the air. And yes I was aiming for something similer to beams tree village except once I am done there will be units added on and such... the true nature of the area is soon to be revealed ;). Also this was just a quick sample of some of my work I forgot to take the grids out... I usealy put sky and fog in after everything else. Anyways the next screenies will be up sometime tomarrow also... My imagination is rather bland so if you have an idea for a cool terrain you'd like me to try just post it here and I shall do my best.

Actually, I'd like to see what you're capable of doing to the pictures you've already began working on. I'll check back when more screenshots are posted! :D

Ok this is pretty much the finishing point, I had a couple custom skins I thought of putting in but decided not to... well here it is. Make any suggestments you like, yes I know the walkway turned out rather shitty ingame. Someone give me an idea for my next terrain as well...

That terrain looks decent I would say.
But, I notice some of your doodads appear to be *gasp* floating. (Ie. THe corner of the crypt, some of the trees, and rocks.) Just set the roll angle, or page-down them a couple times.

And some of the terrain looks a bit pointy in some spots. Use the smooth tool.

Maybe use some shrubs around the bases of the trees.

Overall its not bad at all.

The site is so laggy it took me like 20 minutes to get to this damn thread... Anywho... I know I need to smooth a few things out and fix the floatys... but I was bored so I did this. Other then that I had no reason to even make this little spec of a forested village... next project coming up is an undead city after a large battle... stay tuned for the next week or two for some of my real terrain.
