Gargoyle Portraits!

Yep, that's right - anyone who's seen Disney's Gargoyles series knows that gargoyles are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Since my fiance recently, ah... acquired the entire series for us to watch, I was inspired to create my own gargoyle - how I would be if I were a gargoyle in that universe. I guess you could call it a self-portrait of sorts, but not entirely literal. ^^

I want to see what kind of gargoyles (in Disney's Gargoyles world, mind you!) you would be~ Just do a Google search for Disney Gargoyles pictures if you want to see what they're like.

Her name's Lethe, and I do intend to colour her, eventually. ^^

... reminds me of Demona... And i don't remember any of the Gargoyles having four wings...

I like Hudson... Goliath is weird.

*hates the fact that he can't draw without some kind of reference...*

No crits right now... other than that the Disney gargoyles don't have any magical casting type powers.

The Disney gargoyles actually could cast spells, if they knew them (Demona is a prime example). Also, if ya do a bit of studying, you'll find almost all of the female gargs have the hands at the crests (?) of their wings, rather than spikes like the males, they don't have the visible ribs in the wings, and many of them have the spikes on the knees and elbows (like Demona).

And one did have four wings - Desdemona - but hers were oddly shaped. That's one thing that makes Lethe different. ^^

I guess I just didn't watch the show enough... I liked other cartoons better... I think it was TF: Beast Wars at that time... TF owns gargoyles...

I didn't complain about the crest of the wing at all... where did you get that idea?

Erwt... you could always draw yourself as one.

Bah, just do a google search and you can see what they look like. >.<

icbm: I was saying the things the female gargs have in common, because you said she looks similar to Demona. =)

GT wasnt made by the same ppl. an american company bought the rights and butchered the show. DAMN THEM! my fave is dragonball origional, it had more plot, but Z was good because of the battles.

I may try a gargoyle self portrait, i always like the show, though i didnt watch it enough >.<

I had to post here, as I used to love the Gargoyles series...too bad it ended rather abruptly (and 'The Goliath Chronicles' was a few notches in quality under the original series)...

Anyway, other than of course complimenting Jaci on both an excellent picture and a great thread to bring back 'memories' (that WIP Gargoyles RPG map in one of the other forums here was another ;) ), I had to post as this gave me a little inspiration to draw another of my non-WC chars.

And, well, my NAME on this board and others IS from that character, who's a Gargoyle I had whipped up way back when I first saw the original series. :D

I haven't drawn her in five years or so, tho this pic is new and a bit quick, but anyway, here's the 'real' Psylisia Dragoon, in a sense. ^^ Attached is both a linear and a shaded version of the drawing.

Psy D
(yeah, she's a bit 'electrical' based ;) )

Woo, more gargoyles! Nice job, guys. Very green, Carigon - kind of reminds me a bit of Broadway. I like. ;D

I love the way you shaded Psylisia's wings, Psy~ Still looking forward to a colour version, eventually.... ^^

C'mon, more gargs now! >.<
