Guest | I have a unit whos graphics aren't showing up. It's a flying unit, here are a few things: Model is abilities\weapons\cannontowermissile\cannontowermissile Target as air movement as flying movement speed is 400 movement height is 0 * - also didn't work with 280 as movement height. sight is 400 Why doesn't it show up? I can still select it, and it can still attack. |

Guest | does the model show up in the editor? if you see a green box where your unit is, then you might consider checking the model path twice... have you edited the unit's skin? if so, check to see if the cannontowermissile.mdx file has the correct path for the skin. don't forget that to play with custom skins and models in-game you have to implement them in your .w3m file, and not to open the editor after doing that, or you'll lose what you have implemented. then again it might just be that the unit is completely invisible because the alpha channel of the skin makes it that way, so then youd have to convert the .blp image of the skin into .tga, open it up with a good image editor, load the alpha channel and clear it and implement back the image into your .w3m file i hope this works but since there are so much ways this could happen i might not know the answer |

Guest | No, it shows up fine in the editor. And it's not a custom skin. The path is correct. I've had this problem with a different unit, too. They both had movement height. When I made it a ground unit, it worked, but I need it to be an air unit for this. It's weird, but I'll figure it out. |

Yea I have the same problem. I edited a hero ground Unit to a fly unit and changed the model to the gryphon rider and so on. I have done it with three Units and all are "invisible" in the game ... dunno what to do. |

Guest | u guys got me really confused... ive taken 5 minutes to make some tests: ive placed 4 units on a new map, all to player 1: 1- authentic militia, no tweaking from the WE 2- authentic gyrocopter 3- peasant with the following tweaks: -model: units\human\militia\militia ---> militia model -movement type: Fly -movement height: 200.00 (essentially this gives a peasant with the model of a militia, flying at 200 above ground, but targeted as a ground unit) 4- footman with tweaks: -model: units\human\gyrocopter\gyrocopter -targeted as: Air -movement type: Fly -movement height: 150 (giving a footman with the model of a gyro, flying at 150 above ground, and targeted as an air unit.) Ive included a screenshot of all this in-game, and they were all doing very fine, the peasant was walking on air and the footman couldnt attack the other gyro. My conclusion is that you only need to change 2 fields to make a unit fly: movement type and movement height. If your units arent showing up, well check the movement height, hopefully their not flying ABOVE the game camera. If this aint the problem write me the list of all the tweaks you brought to your units in WE, you might've screwed up a field somewhere. ...i really need to get me an avatar |

I've heard that, for whatever reason, you can't mae heros into flying units in WEEB. Not sure if this is true because I haven't actualy tried it, but someone might want to. |

Guest | that doesnt seem true, i just tested it, heres a pick of a flying pally, tweakings: -changed "movement type" field from Ground to Air -change "movement height" from 0.00 to 200.00 |

That happened to me too, I tried making a unit that couldnt move, couldnt attack, but acted like a mercenary camp. In the editor it showed up fine, in game, it was an unselectable shadow. ??? |

Guest | I'm really out of ideas here |

Guest | It's just a glitch in one of the .slk files included with the Blink! editor. The easiest way I found to fix it was to open up the original UnitMetaData.slk in the .mpq and copy entirely the two rows devoted to movement type and movement height over the same two rows in the UnitMetaData.slk that was put in the Units directory by the Blink! .zip. Guest | thats odd, the two tests i made above were done with the blink editor and it all came out fine, even if i didnt play around with the .slk files |

ya same thing happend to me i made peasents look like chimera and made them flying in the editor they look like chimera but in the actual game they are just shadows i no what ur talking about i think u need to change the flying hight thing im not sure |

The problem is fixed by changing the flying height of the unit with triggers -- then it will appear. I dunno what causes the problem, I've just seen it happen sporadically. Units with a movement speed of 0 couldn't have their flying height changed as of 1.02, not sure if .03 changed this. Interesting, I'd never tried flying heroes but I've heard plenty about them not working :P |

Also, gggg -- buildings (basically any unit with a pathing map) can't fly. |

Nope ... I found time to try it again and the problem was on my map that when I set the flyhigh to 280 like the high from a gryphon rider then the unit dont appear. But I reduced thehigh to 200 and now it work :bgrun: dunno what the problem is but try it and reduce the fly high :D |
