Hey guys. I was thinking of making a total Warcraft 3 remake of the Arc the Lad series. Now, if you are not prepared to read a very long description, or don't have the time, I suggest reading this later. Now, I am in need of a team of people to help me on this project. And it is ok if you are not familiar with the Arc the Lad Series, as I have beaten 1-4 and have experience with Arc Arena, so I know most of the storyline stuff. Now, here are the games and a description. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arc the Lad -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this game in the series, you are....Arc the Lad. In this part of the series, I was thinking of making a very unique movement/attack system. Now, I was not planning on doing this with Active Time Bar Gauges [ATB Gauges]. Instead, I was planning on having some type of cinematic display all of the possible areas that your hero can move each turn. I haven't quite decided if I should let you declare attack normally once per turn, fight like a normal warcraft battle, or use a system close to the one used in Hero RPG where you use the Esc key to attack a selected unit. Now, as the first part in the series it does not have quite as much storyline and is alot shorter. I have also not decided if I want it to be a game playable online [multiplayer], or a campaign with custom music, loading screens, etc. I plan to decide this when I get my team together, as we vote on it. I also plan to create a normal weapon system with about 150 weapons, original abilities that each character can learn. You can also gain additional team members as you go throughout your journey whether it is an online game or a campaign. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arc the Lad II -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This one I plan to put alot more work into than the first one. This one will most likely use an ATB-Gauge-Type Battle System. Each character can gain Magic, Items, and Skill commands accessible in the Multiboard, very similar to Hero RPG. This will use the Right Arrow Key, Left Arrow Key, Up Arrow Key, Down Arrow Key, And Esc Arrow Key, to select through the options in the Multiboard. Next, in between random encounters, I plan to enable the Player to view their Spells, Items, Weapons, etc. In a fashion as follows- The below is an example of a units inventory. ________________ l l l l Spells l Items l l l l ________________ l l l l l l lWeapons l Skills l _________________ l l l l l l l l l _________________ Haven't really given the last two much though, but when you click on any of the above four, it opens a 'spellbook' that displays all of the Spells/Items/Weapons/Skills that you have acquired. Next, I haven't really decided if this will be a massive RPG or a campaign with custom music, cinematics, and loading screen, though I'm leaning towards campaign. Once again, I plan to let my team decide which type of game it will be. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arc the Lad III -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the third part of this series, I plan to introduce an entire new battle system that is controlled mainly by a three part diceroll. The Normal battle diceroll is just a normal combat via Multiboard. If you get the bad diceroll, a 15% chance, then each of your characters is surrounded in an awkward position, in other words giving the opposing monsters a great initiative. The third, is a 10% chance, which gives you first strike before the enemies begin to start their assault on you. I also plan to keep the same weapon/spells/skills/items system that was previously described in Arc the Lad II. At this stage in the series, I would like the terrain look to greatly improve, as when I played the Playstation series, the Third chapter in the epic story had much enhanced graphics from the previous two. Once again, I have not decided for it to be an RPG or Campaign, though on this one, I am GREATLY leaning on campaign. Though, I will still vote with the team that hopefully comes together after this. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arc Arena -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, this instillment in the series is indefinately an online multiplayer RPG. This quite far away from the rest of the games, as it has MUCH less storyline than all the others. In fact, it has little to none. It will be a multiplayer 'RPG' with a save/load code-based system. I plan for people just to play to see their hero grow into the godliest heroes ever known, climaxing at level 9999. Also, when a Player's hero grows to a high enough level, it can be traded in for the same hero, but of a higher rank and different color. This is a feature from the actual Arc Arena. I have NO idea what kind of battle system to use, since the entire game is based on the battling. I want the system to be perfect, so this will definately be a topic to discuss if you are interested in joining. In this part, I plan for their to be 1000's of items. This is so that people will continue to play to win stronger and stronger weapons. I also plan to have some kind of tournament points. Throughout the world, there will be around 30 buldings where you can trade in your tournament points for stronger and stronger items. Just thought that it would add a little something to the game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arc the Lad - Twilight of the Spirits -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 5th and final part of our series. I plan for this to totally revolutionize Warcraft gaming. I want it to have an all new Battle System that has never been used before in Warcraft. I want this version to have very good terrain, excellent music, and to be greatly based on cinematic sequences to fill in storyline and missing plot. This is also the first place where I wish to create my very original and infamous - The AP System. If you haven't heard of it, do a forum search for it. I have posted about it several times I believe. I want this game to be its debut. If I can get the kind of help that I pray for, I hope for someone to create an entire new interface skin for this game. Now, I know that the games might not be fully explained, but I hope I have given you a brief description of what I hope to achieve in each of the games.
