Okay, lets use an example here:
The ability of the Druid of the Claw, Rejuvination.

The icon of Rejuvination is a green leaf with a pinkish glow.

What I want to do is the following:

1) Make a picture in Paint / Paintshop Pro / Photoshop
2) Convert it into whatever file type required
3) Import it into my map
4) Change the "Rejuvination" icon into the one I created.

Can anyone help?

I don't have a lot of time to go into detail but search around the forum.
In a nutshell:
Extract the image file [Using image extracter or Wc3viewer (what I prefer)]
Open the .tga file in your paint program (MSPaint can't save the right file)
Doodle as you please
Save as a .tga making sure that uncompressed is selected (if using PSP)
Use image extracter or Wc3Viewer to convert it to a .blp
Import it into the editor and set it to what ever ability/unit desired (do not worry if you don't see it right away.
Save your map and close the editor.
Open the editor and your map again and volia.

Sorry I can't get more specific at this time but it gives you something to go off of.
