War Dancer WIP

It's been a long while since I posted something in here...

So here's one of the things I'm working on now in my spare time.
My Satyr War Dancer, one of the models found in my 'for all, by all' thread, which if you haven't seen, you should definitely go check out. The link is in my Sig.

All that I've been doing so far is the armour, and it hasn't been colored yet.
I cheated on the chainmail, I found a good photo of real chainmail on google and CnP'ed it, with some touch ups of course. It's still cheating, but I think it's worth it, it looks fabulous.

anyway, tell me what you think, and any ideas for armour color and fur color would be good too.

Um why dose his weapon look like a fan, well if your gonna change that, then it will look better. the color scheme needs work, I dont like the color, its too bright, you need to make it darker..

Nice armour, trimming and so on... very gothic. I think you've overdone the amount of armour though. I just cant picture it 'dancing' with all that on. Juggernaut would be a better name.

juggernaut? I hear the name juggernaut and I think BIG.. this guy is small..ish
sure he's heavily armoured, but it could be aluminum ;)
You'd have to see his animations to see why I called him a wardancer, he has very demon hunter style attacks. Y'know, two small weapons, spikes on his tail and horns, even with all that armour, to properly use the weapons he has he would have to be an Agility Hero. Go to the thread in my sig and look at the Devourer, now that's a BIG guy who's definitely a Strength Hero.

...I can't help but agree with you though, to move the way he does with all that armour he'd have to be built like.. I don't know what. Maybe I should just have the chainmail on his arms and legs and remove the chestplate and chainmail from his torso?


Oh, and about his weapons looking like fans.. dude.. I thought it was obvious that no alpha channels have been done yet, there's areas there that are obviously going to be alphaed out.

a bit more dodging and burning. Looks pretty cool I like the designs.

Did the Alpha Channel, Armour is finished now (unless someone says something that changes my mind)
Started on Fur areas, but I don't know abou the tan color. On one hand it looks kinda like the color of Lion fur, which is kinda cool, but on the other hand it looks blonde, and kind of feminine (especially the tufts hanging on the sides of the face.)
Blades need some work still.

Wooo, I LOVE this model! It's a great improvement on the already sexy Satyr! I also like the colour scheme and designs that you've done so far - very Blizzard, only lower saturation (which is good). Hard to focus on the head area with that bright purple unskinned bit, so be sure to give us a nice face shot once you cover that up, please. ^^

Gold seems like a decent colour choice for his fur, but I would up the contrast/saturation of the bit around his face to make it more shining/burnished, were I you.

What a hot little waist. Man, if only the original Satyr's unwrap had allowed for that... >.<

look at the first pic, then at the second, and see what is different other than the armour. the hair and tail is it, really, not much fur.....

I'm going to re-name him the War Master, unless someone has a better idea.

Thanks Jacinthe. you like the goldish fur, eh? well, I'll do the rest with it, I can always recolor it after if I want. You'll definitely be gettin' a nice close up of the face once it's done, kuz it's gonna be my avatar :D
