We need to gather information regarding the new download system to know how the public thinks about it. Please vote, comments are suggested. |

well, for one, I would prefer it to be on wc3c, because I like keeping my work exclusive instead of having many sites host it without my consent, so I'm somewhat hesitant to put it anywhere else, but I will switch over eventually.... |

hmm i posted this on darky's thread but this one seems more official... i think the whole point of having a download section button is that you dont have to go to another site to download, this complicates things alot. Cant we just wait till the download section works -here- instead of uploading files twice? Your going to get a ton of angry members because of this... another bad thing about this is that again in the community its pointless(get it?) to share |

hey, can I get my vote switched to GREAT! ? I've looked at the site a bit, and I really like its system, esp having a lot of screenshots~ |

You can't upload .zips... The way to improve it is to make it identical to the old one - that was dl perfection |

I thinks its much harder the new way, but before we switched about 1 day before, i couldn't submit my map, this may be because they were switching, but i tried to submit but the page screwed up and a white page poped up... |

I reallt don't mind as much. I already am a member with wc3sear and i liked their system. I took me awhile to figure out that they use winrar files instead of zip so that screwed me up for a while. As long as we will still have access to the wc3c archives i'm fine with it. |

its easy to use, and it doesnt needs readme and such, you can just upload a model, skin, icon or map, the script will auto-matically extracts the informations from the file, like it will convert the blp to jpg and use it as a screenshot, all infos about the map are shown(how big, tileset, triggers etc.) models uploaded will be read and will asks for skin files from you if the model uses custom skin files, and its all auto they will be put into a zip... thats why i like it :) all information are clearly shown |

Its like alfred already said. The file upload now works way more flawless than before. Example: For maps all you need to do is provide the map file and select the category you wanna have it into. If you like an additional readmefile can be included which will be then in the zip file of the map as well. Example how you upload a map: ![]() after you klick submit the site makes everything automatically and generates pages like this: http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Maps&ID=162 or this: http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Maps&ID=236 Uploading a model is similar easy. Step 1: You choose Category. Then you provide the model file (mdx), the portrait model file (optional), a nice screenshot showing your model in game (jpg) and a Readme file (optional). Then you hit submit. ![]() Now your model files(s) get parsed. If they need any other models (models can have attached models as well) a new page asks for the missing models it wants to have. Models marked in red do not exist and must be provided: ![]() The last step are the skins all your model files need. The script parses all files and brings up a list of all skins you use. Skins presented in red are not in the original warcraft and must be provided: Hit submit again and your model is in the download section instantly. A lot of interresting stats are autogathered. Even the POLYGON number got calculated! Example what the script generates: http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Models&ID=68 or http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Models&ID=103 or http://www.wc3sear.ch/?p=Models&ID=28 The script places all required files of the model in a zip file (including your readme txt) and even generates the correct structure of the paths ;-) Greets Darky27 |

The system is great because, all models are checked by it. You'll meet model with texture missing :D And you'll can find great models in the future .... |

Darky I cannot upload my map. It is 11.4MB and its in .exe (for easier installation) I won't ever think of uploading it on wc3campaigns.com cos they unprotect the maps. Darky why can't I upload it? |
