Walkable human walls - download + criticism here...

Here's the zip - read the readme - implementing these walls is not difficult but complicated... any problems in the thread

There's just horizontal and vertical directions at the moment - I'll add the rest if there's time and interest... and take suggestions for addons...

If anyone wants the milkshape files I'll put them up...

oh, and if you want the doodads blps for that gate - which I threw together in a couple of minutes I'll put that up - but it might be a good idea to make a whole new big gate

you should skin thease for me and make them look old crapy and full of moss so they look like swamp walls

he shouldn't, he COULD, your asking a request...

Like posted, this owns. as addons:

-Towers
-gate (like you said)
-fire holes (seen lotr 2? the ones they use at the gate of helms deep i mean)
-smaller crelenelations (the stones that leave gaps to shoot arrows), since now there can be 4 archers at one gap
-some gatehouse thing instead of a gate, i mean, just a house with a gate underneath, that'l be MUCH cooler than a normal gate
-this is proberly not possible: pots of burning oil, you can trow somehow (spells?)
-very high pieces of wall + stairs on lower walls to get to the high pieces

Hope this helps you, get to work, i want more!

dude, i can't get it to work... i've made all the custom doodads, and imported the files, but it can't find the models. i know the restart the map trick but thats not it, i just can't attach them. do i also need to custom path the TGA? can you explain exactly which thing needs to be pathed to what to attech them, cause now i just get big usuall lordaeron walls...

Alright, now all is done but attaching the models to my custom made destructibles, which doesn't seem to work. TGA needs specific path? models? do I need to pick model AND pathing texture or just the second?

Oh btw 1 tip: i reccomend also setting the HP to 99999, unless you want destructable walls. as you might know, and i have noticed, using aos weapons near a wall multiple times (1o times or so) kills the wall eventually, and if your making a cinematic with cata's shooting the wall, you dont want it to die all of a sudden while it needs to be up, i presume...

they all use the UI glues castle blp - it's a real simple layout - I'm sure it's real easy to get cool new looks - I'm not much of a skinner though


If you want I could upload a map with the walls already imported and setup so you can see how it's done - has anyone got them working?

I've got them working in my map, it's just a matter of making sure they're close enough together so units can walk across them.

I thought i said that in my post, though at a closer look, i didn't. anyway i've read your readme but it wouldn't help me out.

Now i've got the models attached right (i believe) to the custom doodads, but when i try to place them they can be OR a green black spotted block OR the normal wall OR the stairs OR the normal lordaeron wall, and NOTHING else. i've checked this out in your readme but your explanation to fix it in there is really vague and can't help me out. fixes?
