Dark Ranger's eyes

Ok, I searched and I don't think this q has been brought up before...

I'm playing with skinning the Dark Ranger model for a project, and I've hit a slight snag pertaining to the effects with her eyes.

Now, I know what textures are used for the all the effects surrounding the DR (the black mists and such) and I know that the texture located at \Textures\Red_Glow3 is the one used for the glowing eyes effect the DR has.

I'm trying to reskin her so she has a different glow, say blue or green (undecided yet). So, first thing I tried was a simple hue change via PSP of the Red_Glow3 texture before even diving into the rest of the skin. The actual eyes on the Dark Ranger skin are white, so I didn't change that.

In WC3Viewer, the eyes DO glow green in both the full-body and portrait model previews...most of the time (I figure this is typical of WC3V, as it isn't exact with everything), after converting both the skin and the red glow file to blps.

Here's where I'm stuck:
Typical TFT WE import routine of both updated blps, fine. Set paths correctly, fine. Place the custom-skinned DR on the map...hm...no glow at all. Attempt to test the map and look in there...no glow on either model or portrait.

Oddly, removing (or not using) the imported Red_Glow3 blp DOES give her the glowing red eyes on the custom skin (model and portrait), tho I think only in-game (not in WE, but I could be wrong).

Anyone played with the DR before and have an idea what I could be doing wrong? Everything seems to be in place right but the edited eye glow doesn't show outside of WC3V. <:

o_O i dont kinda get what you are trying to say... if you want the ranger to have a different glow, you might now need skin it, only change the skin path in the mdl will be easier... perhaps cant you summarise?

Summary:

1-Giving DR a custom skin that has glowing green eyes instead of glowing red eyes.
2-Texture file for the glowing effect is \Textures\Red_Glow3.blp
3-Skinned DR normally, changed the hue of Red_Glow3 so it's now green instead of red.
4-Converted both DR skin and red glow texture via WC3Viewer to .blps. Preview in WC3Viewer is correct (glowing green eyes)
5-Imported both .blps into TFT WE, correctly as far as I can tell.
6-DR skin works right, but no glow at all in the eyes both in WE and in-game.
6a-Importing just DR skin .blp results in normally glowing red eyes in-game.

Not really sure where the problem is (well, it's somewhere between 4 and 6, of course) or why it's happening.

hmmmmmm i think the texture is loaded, but the glow must be messed up when you hue change... i suggest using a custom mdl with changed path for the glow so no skinning is required for the glow(since there is a green glow in wc3)
