Hello.

The Intro for my map is finished now and it is like 5 minutes and 20 seconds long .. I doubt its boring, but is 5 minutes too long? Their are some dialogs bout the background, a battle and a briefing.

5 mins? yes, its definitely too long, perhaps make it around 3 mins or implement a skip intro function. That way, if the player had played the map b4 or have seen the intro, he won't have to wait for the intro to finish.

5 min is not too long as long as the intro is dynamic.
i.e. while the background is playing move the camera around (not in circles) and show critters and creeps. Also the location should be respective to the dialogue. If there are people talking make them move.

Good background music is a plus as well as voice acting. Actually hearing something helps make it seem shorter cause you read faster than you hear and there is the awkward break in between.

Make the battle short as in give the fighters less life so they die faster.

The briefing must be, well, brief. Dont make it detailed otherwise it would be a war report.

Having a long intro isint bad as long as there are'nt many lenghty cutscenes during the game. Having a worthy ending also helps balance the feel of the game. After a good intro people start to expect a good ending.

If its not multiplyer then no, if it is then try to shorten it if possible, and perhaps add an in-cinematic skip system. Though as long as its not boring, and theres a good map behind it then it shouldnt be to bad.
