Stupid self-shadows

It seems the game adds self-shadows to all models, a problem with this is that they look like shit and when you turn the model the shadow turns too, just as if there are multiple suns or something like that.
Is it possible to make these look better, or just remove them?

(look at attached screenshot to see how it looks)

I've never noticed them looking bad, but yes, you can remove shadows. I think it's an "Art" field in the unit editor. Units and structures use different systems. Units all get the same kind of shadow which has a changeable width, height, and offset, whereas structures have specific shadow patterns which match the building, and are not changeable.

The art - has a shadow is for a drop-shadow i beleve, its turned off anyway. This is the self-shadow, wich does not seem to be affected by that. I'm guessing if its possible to turn ifits in the materials part of the mdl, but i have found no tutorials that explains the material proerties.
