It's been too long since we've had one of these. We have a lot of new comers so lets see what you can do. I'll color it myself some day. I didn't feel like making the chains more that a line so you could leave that alone :/ . |

it sure does... but It wouldn't be if the pic wasn't good in the first place. and to those who plan to participate... DO NOT COPY MY LIGHT ANGLE! I know it is easier to get the shadows from someone else... but c'mon guys... be creative. I think light coming from the bottom would be cool. And just remember that when you color you should be creative... meaning... pic colors that are unique... and that are reasonable (NO FLOURESCENT PINK!). heh... back to the Striker ava... it's hot! icbm1987 |

if only we all had wacom tablets... question though, can we make small/insignficant changes i the lineart? just to make it go more with a mood or something? |

here.. i gave a 20 min. coloring too.... similar lighting to icbm.... note that i am not done yet. i still have quite a bit of homework to do, but i just took a break to color. edit: after posting it.. ive noticed that saving the pic as a jpeg has distorted the color. it lost the brightness to it, and the contrast of color is diff. ive been having trouble w/ this for a while now, and i hve no idea how to fix it. :( |

FUNG... that looks a hell of a lot better than mine... I can't shade wings... You took the light source to be coming from the left side of the pic... that's nice! as for converting to jpeg... when you do it If you don't want to lose that much quality... in photoshop move the scroll bar to 12... icbm1987 |

wow.. it turned out to be HUGE!!!! lol... when i colored it, it must have been on 50% or something. as i look at it close up, it looks very sloppy, and the colors dont blend together well where i wanted it to. i think it looked better in the thumbnail, but i dont really care if you have it posted like that. its not a final version, so it dont have to look perf. but ill prolly end up using both photoshop and open canvas on it. Open canvas tends to blend better, yet you cant get that flashy light effect from it like in photoshop. |

I like how you used different colors instead of just taking the cheap way out and doing what I do. I color by: 1) Make as many layers as you will need for different parts of the figure (aka. flesh, hair, metal, cloth, etc.) 2) Go through and put the flat colors in 3) Go back with the brush set to multiply and put in shadows on each respective layer. 4) Screen and highlights... like above. 5) For the really neat metal effect like on my Striker... set the brush to color burn... it is awesome! 6) best done with a wacom... I love my wacom. newcomers? I only see forum regulars so far. icbm1987 |
