Maelstrom: a powerful often violent whirlpool sucking in objects within a given radius. The seas rushed in to fill the gaping wound left by the Well's implosion. Kalimdor was sundered into a handful of separate continents surrounded by the new, raging sea. At the center of the new sea, where the Well of Eternity once stood, was a tumultuous storm of tidal fury and chaotic energies that came to be called the Maelstrom. It stood throughout the passing of centuries as a chilling testament to the terrible cataclysm that forever shattered the utopia once enjoyed by the night elves. I just made these screen shots to see how well I could do. Comments and constructive critism recommended. P.S. If someone could read my last post in my Environment Pack Import Problem thread about the shrubs and maybe read my Animated Sky thread and answer some of my problems I would be most grateful. |

Pretty cool, but i think that the lightning bolt hitting the boat, and another one would be fine, its me being pretty picky but i think four seems too much. Also i think the actual whirlpool doesnt seem too strong in itself. Using the flat waterfall idea might make it look more powerful. And on another picky note, the sky contrasts the fog too much for me. |

well its a cool i deah..but its way too bright for me...i always though maelstorms were dark...also when your using doddads dont put an even amout of them...always odd...it just looks better.....try only using 3 instead of 4.....btw i like the wirlpool idea using the tornado..make it the same color as the water then it will be good :> |

Actually the tornados and maelstrom about the same color as the water but the fog kind of messed it up a little bit and even with tinting the tornados will still have gray wisps of smoke like tendrils. I wasn't sure if using Ashenvale heavy rain or Outland heavy wind would be better. The fog probably also makes it look lighter than it is. I will fix it up later. I am not sure if I can use the flat waterfalls in a circular pattern very well, but I will try my best. |

Ok I took the fog away and fixed some things up and I have one screen shot with the flatwaterfall idea and one with the tornado and waterfall. If you like either one of them I can get more screen shots with different angles. I also added a thunder sound effects because I wanted to ;) . I don't have any rain, windy, stormy, etc sound effects or music. |
