Hey guys this is the first serious map that I have ever done. This is my first time using cinematics and I'm really happy with the way they turned out. This map is the first episode of a campaign that I am putting together. Give it a try and tell me what you think. Better yet tell me how I can make it better. There are a lot of bugs that need to be worked out but it is still a pretty enjoyable map. |

Ok heres the bugs that I found: -The First talk cinimatic seemed to fast, slow it donw because some of us cant read that fast, display only 1 person talking at a time. -The first talk cinimatic wasnt in cinimatic mode. -When I go through the distress beeken cinimatic it plays that for all the members of my party, in other words i had it repeating itself 3 times. u need to make it so only the main hero can make the cinimatic play. -You can skip parts of the game, i didnt have to talk to Kilne at all, you need to make it progressive, like if i do this then and only then can I do the rest. -Between the chat about them disapering and the fight there should be more -There should be more with the cave, it seemed like a wast of time, add more to it, like make the inside and add more story. -The Drop ship needs a skin, if you can do that it'd be better. Overall the story wasn't that bad at all, and most of your problems could be fixed with a few conditions and and some turn trigger on/off triggers. gl with your map. |

Someone finally replied, Yay ^_^ . Thanks for the tips. I agree there are just a few little problems with the quests that can probably be fixed pretty easily. The Cave stuff should definitely be extended I agree. I was just in such a rush to finish that part because I wanted to see what kind of reaction I would get from the map. I'm new to triggers so hopefully it won't be too difficult to make those fixes. I really want to know what people think about the characters though. I know that my Ghost skin sucks but I think it adds a little something to the map. Does anyone really like this? I guess I'm looking for a reason to continue working on it? I think it's pretty cool. |

Hey I think you should continue it, for the gost u should make a model of the marine, just use the orrigional and make him taller and thinner. |

it was ... okay for the first time ;) as Terrainer(what i do best) I instantly saw the rock spires and some trees that seem to fly over the earth because placed on cliffs... you need to move them down and hide their origin because it looks ugly ... (to move doodas up or down select them and press ctrl + page down/ page up if you didn't know yet) also you have to place a lot of pathing blockers because it looks quite strange if you can just move throught them... In my opinion the dialogs were all a bit to fast... i was hardly able to read the last few words of most of them... also most combats were realy to easy ... its no challange to just send 9 marines and a that powerfull hero on attack move crushing all the zerg... also if you make a hero you can give him fitting skills or leave them out completely... His Ultimate should be a nuke rocket than of course ... I see that this doesnt fit into the "Stranded" Story and stuff but you could limit his lvl so he can only get his rocket ultimate in later mission when you are working for some big terrain base or have one yourself ... I realize you never did skills did you? I could help you with this if you want :D don't get me wrong because i only posted what was bad but i guesse thats most constructive ... the story could get quite cool with some fantasy. in short i think its worth keeping it up ;) |
