Well, i am new to this campaign thing in Warcraft III, but I want to biold a campaign myself. I was wondering though, what all resources would I need to build a complete campaign? What tools are suggested? What programs should I use for modelling? I want to add a new race, but have no idea how to do it all. Also, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a unit that can apture other units? Like, for instance, a spell that could capture 1(and only 1) enemy unit permanently, but said unit can only use it once. For instant...my unit wants to capture a peasent so I can have a human tech tree.... |

-If you want to make just a campaign, I suggest you just stick with World Edit. Too many people want to make one without actually knuckling down and doing the core work. -Technically you can do a new race in the Units module in WE. You just create custom new units and can link everything up. -It's the same for spells - you'd base a new spell off 'Charm' (The Undead Ranger's ultimate) and modify it as necessary. Give it a try. :) (Note: You can only do the above in the Frozen Throne expansion world editor) As for the program ideas and suggestions, that's not my area so I'll let another fill you in. Checking out the download section here at WC3C would be a good start. I hope that helps. |

To make a good campaign, all you need is WorldEdit. But a JASS syntax checker doesn't hurt if you prefer to use JASS instead of GUI triggers. Remember, K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid) You can go to the site in my sig and ask for help on the simple stuff, you can PM me there or here if you ever need help. :) Or email me [email protected] |
