gadfly, is a IT Consultant that is willing
to offer his time to make World of Warcraft
run on Linux Wine. Once the Linux version
is stable and World of Warcraft Retail is shipped,
gadfly will offer Free tech support to the
Linux community users that plays World of Warcraft on
Linux Wine.

Blizzard will not offer Tech support as Linux is
unsupported. gadfly's documentation, software settings,
and tech support will be offered for free to the
Linux users under the GPL(General Public License) and
GNU/Linux.

So far, he has managed to make WoW running on Linux! (fedora core 1, core 2 test 1, SuSe Linux 9, and RedHat 9),

The Loader, client, graphics (Nvidia OpenGL), and network all working fully in both full screen, and windowed mode. gadfly has managed to make Opengl, sound, comms, and proper launching of the client in a stable fashion. And he is able to query the Realm list.

Still, he needs a volunteer SoundDirect Guru to offer advice to
make this playable. If you are a professional SoundDirect Guru
contact us. Any Linux user and programmer that wants to join our community feel free to do so. There is a community over at IGN forums that is really optimistic and will join.
