Its seems even if you dont run an AI script for a computer player, they still will use a basic AI script eg they will use hero powers, move units etc How would I disable this script? Import a blank file into the default scripts path?

Oh and I m not running melee game initialization AI scripts

Not meaning to bump this (oops to late), but it would help if my question was answered. It cant be to hard a problem, I dunno much about AIs but there are human, orc etc ai files already in the mpq right? Am i correct in that if no ai script is specified these ais will controll the computers units?
What I want is basically an Ai that will sit there and do nothing eg let allies controll it via shared unit controll with no difficulty. Would importing blank files over these ai files accomplish that?

You can't. There is the hard coded AI that you cannot switch off. It is not script based so changing scripts will not do anything about that.

Is there anything you could think of that would make a non-user controlled player just do nothing. Would creating a blank AI file and telling them to use that work? Or do they still take some of their orders from the hardcoded internal AI?

I think there is no way to completely remove the AI. They always do a bit by themselves, especially the neutral player slots.
