Just make triggers to select it in the beginning - But the problem with this is that computers wouldnt choose anything BUT You can get around that with another trigger, like after a certain amount of time it chooses a race randomly, or it detects the computer player and selects one randomly. Another thing - If you did it this way you wouldnt have to replace another race ;-) Ive thought alot of this through since I was originally going to make a map with 5 new races and competely ditch the old ones, however, not wanting to put to big of a map on my plate or get into triggers ive left it at 4 races. |

You can't make them as a pickable race before you start the game. You can make a dialog menu when the game starts and then choose your race there. You CAN edit the .dll files, but you won't be allowed on Battle.net. It will add the race to the menu, but you won't be able to actually select it, only move your mouse over it (unless you're VERY skilled, but even then it's a longshot.) Just use the first method already said by enough people and it should work fine. |

well, you can make your own MOD, that will modify the game, a standalone EXE file, and it will change the "hardcoded" thing to your liking, and it will be available on ALL of the maps.... the second option is to code a program that will write different data in those memory blocks used by warcraft than the original data, which will also cause the naga race to be selectable... the third option is to either give up, or show dialogs for human players, and let the computers be what they got (random/do not modify their race) my suggestion, do not even try the first two options, it is HARD as HELL to make those, and the chances are it wont work so you have to code the whole thing over and over untill you make it work.... i've done such things for SC, and it DID NOT pay off by a long shot... ofcourse, i didn't use it for modifying the races, but other things.... |

There is a way to add a race slector (like the name ) onto the menu, but I don't know how to link up the name with the actual race. I am quite certain, that you can get quite close. Though the Naga might be the only ones you could add. |

Just pretend the orcs are naga. |
