I have 3ds Max 5, and im trying to make attachment points (the weapon one, so my ghost hover bike model will fire its plasma from its weapon instead of a like over its head) Anyways, my 3ds Max always crashs when i set something to be an attachment point. Once however though, i managed to save it as attachment point before it closed (i think, whenever i try to check it crashes again), then i opened that back up and exported it as an mdx etc, but it still doesnt work...like it still doesnt shoot from there. Anyone able to help me? |

hmm, what did you set as the attachment point? What i did (and what it said in the tut blizz made) was make a small box, and then set it to attachment point. |

Can it be that you have a cracked exe for MAX? A friend of mine had one, and only had problems with it... |

hm, you dont really need attachment point called weapon ref. The controller for the weapon spawn output (missile output) can be controlled in the world editor itself. Those editing fields are called : projectile launch X projectile launch Y projectile launch z and of course the hit (where it should hit the model if succesfull) projectile hit X projectile hit Y projectile hit z you have to tweak those values a bit and check ingame, as x and Y are not the same as you thought they would like in max (like x is actually Y in max or so) not certain anymore as it has been a while. Z value seems to be the same though. I suggest using values of 100 to check where it should be . 100 should be as high as a footie though ========================================================= IMPORTANT! Update your art tools. That bug you had was well known when the art tools were released. Blizzard posted a update for the art tools which should fix your crashes with attachment points! |
