This is Mock1's Soldier of Dale skin. The model has been edited by Oinkerwinkle. It now has a new sword, slightly better wrapping, and no spike on the shield. I have made a few changes to this version of the skin (not quite as much gold, and added the chainmail). The original version that he made will be used for Royal Guards, whereas the skin pictured below will be used for the foot-soldiers.

These soldiers serve in the royal army of Dale. The royal army is centered in two cities:
Tillera - The capital
Orchester - A major military city east of Tillera

These soldiers are dressed in a strong suit of platemail padded underneath by leather, with a few sections of chainmail. The armor is somewhat heavy, but the soldiers are still able to move effectively on the battle due to the excellent craftsmanship of the armor. A suit of this style of armor takes one smithy about a month to craft. However since there are many smiths under the employment of the military of Dale, around 50 suits can be made in just under a month at a normal production rate.

Looks cool ^_^! But the blue is a bit too shiny for handcraftet platemail.

Thanks for your comment. I'm considering lowering the brightness a bit on that. Also I might add a bit of chainmail on the back of the skin, or somewhere on the legs. That suit of armor would get pretty heavy without some more non-plated areas.

Maybe some chainmail between Bodyarmor and Legarmor pieces. Maybe at the back of the knees. So its more easy to move for the soldier.

At one point I was actually beginning to add some chainmail back there, but the wrapping was being a tard and I gave up. But I'll give it another shot, I had been messing around with the skin for a few hours, and I was tired of it so I let it slide. I'll try and get it done tonight, though I may just concentrate on working on the site and handle it tommorow night.

I have a 3 day weekend (get Friday off) :)

I added some chainmail on the back of the knees. I tried to do it on the front as well, but the wrapping is really fugged up - I painted some chainmail onto the leg parts, and it effected the overhanging part of the armor as well. Naturally next I tried to make it so he had a chainmail skirt by painting the rest of that area of the legs, but when I completely painted over the overhanging armor area, the chainmail then went over onto the tops of the boots. :\
Even the chainmail on the back of the legs is distorted due to the wrapping. I'll see if I can get someone to fix up a few of the little glitches on the wrapping.

Dude... please don't ressurect threads. I'll warn you for now, but if I see you ressurecting threads around here or the cinematic support forum again, you're gonna be in trouble.

This thread is 5 months old, theres no need to bring it back from the dead.
