In the Game Constants there are fields which dictate what percent damage each damage type does to each armor type. Look for that, and play around with it.

It's already been done? Doesn't the game's armor and attack type system already perfectly simulate this?

OR, he doesnt play melee, like i dont play melee either. infact, i only played the first mission of the campaign ( i think the orc intro ) and then got bored and went into WE and started messing around, when i got the game. i dont know what half the abilities do ingame and i dont think you should expect everyone to know what all the abilities/things do normally, after all we are all in a site dedicated to CHANGING these things from how they work normally.

I meant the system of one attack type having superiority over one armor type, etc etc.

Like... Siege damage has superiority to all others against Fortified Armor

Piercing damage is exceptionally effective against Normal (if I remember right).

Etc.

It's not that I don't have enough 'experience', it's just the idea of having attack types and armor types is nothing new to the WC3 universe, considering it came standard V1.0 RoC.

It is really easy to modify the armor/attack types. In my Td all of the attack and armor types are new, or remade. Since im bored ill make a little table for you.

Armor: Small | Medium | Large | Fort | Normal | Hero | Divine | Unarmored
Attack (%):
Chaos 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1
Hero 1 | 1 | 1 | .5 | 1 | 1 | .05 | 1
Magic 1.25 | .75 | 2 | .35 | 1 | .5 | .05 | 1
Normal 1 | 1.5 | 1 | .7 | 1 | 1 | .05 | 1
Pierce 2 | .75 | 1 | .35 | 1 | .5 | .05 | 1.5
Siege 1 | .5 | 1 | 1.5 | 1 | .5 | .05 | 1.5
Spells 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | .75 | .05 | 1

If you want to change them, go the the advanced tab in WE, down to gameplay constants. Then scroll down to the Combat - Damage Bonus Table part, but you'll need to check the use custom gameplay constants thing to change it

Hmm, turns out the guy that everybody was saying had no clue... had the right answer. lol, pure luck I assure you all.

Anyways, the others were right. In the Game Constants area you can set those percentages to absolutely anything you want. And I think you might be able to rename them... that's uncertain. If you can, then you can make it so that there is a Magic attack type and a Magic armor type, Chaos attack & Chaos armor, etc. Then you could do what you want to do.

Yea you can rename em and change the tooltips and icon and everything, and i use magic armor in my TD. And yea 1=full damage (or 100%)

:) I was looking for a thread like this and i finally found one. Uhh, I can't figure out how to change the armor/attack type name (for example, I'm making a map set in a modern time period, and would like to have flak damage, machine gun damage, etc.) how do you edit the name and description (example: Instead of "Chaos damage does full damage to all armor types", I want "Machine gun damage does extra damage to infantry armor, and reduced damage to tank armor" or something along those lines :) Thanks
