1- how do you use a model i tried it and imported the files i tought needed .mdx .blp but when i tried to apply them a green square shows up.
did i forget something or do i need to do something else ?.

2- i also tried changing the minimap image with w3m map utilities but when i try it the image shows up blank.

1. A very common problem. Common solutions. Is the path for the skin correct? If you created the skin, did you include an alpha channel?
Once you give a unit the model you have to save your map and close the editor. Then reopen everything and it should show up.

2. I have never done this but some ideas: Is the pic a .blp (it needs to be) Does it have an alpha channel?

I've had that problem many times. It is definately a skin problem. If you've got the WC3Viewer you can check by loading the model in there and seeing if it show up right. When ever I have that problem either the path is pointing to the wrong place (probably not your problem but it is good to check) or there is a problem in either A. the alpha channel or B. how the .blp was converted. If none of that makes sense post the skin here and I'll take a look at it.
