Do you think there is too many, not enough, or already a good amount? Feedback please. - Draco |

More the merrier but honestly you rarely see work from some. There should be like the 1st of everyone month on the main page all the updates on every mod. even if its 1 skin it still shows progress. |

We've tried god knows how many different plans in order to show progress but it usually ends up with someone being far too strict or far too lenient and so in the end has very little effect. Plus the fact that not all can show progress in that time if the leader's busy etc etc. In short, good idea, sadly won't work. |

Most projects have stopped when they have not even finished sucessfully, same for example COTN it hasn't even finished yet and TToA doesn't do much updates. People should really get working! |

I've been working my ass off. You try coming up with your entire own story from scratch with new races, locations, and a new calendar and then waiting until your team has time to check over to make sure its worth a crap to put out on the web. (I don't mean that in an offensive way, or harshly, just making a point) The team has been working slowly, including myself to some extent, I rely on a quick and efficient team to quickly and efficiently create cinematics. It is by NO means their fault that TTOA is going slow. They don't lead the project, they have other things to do, I can't expect them to get models & skins done quickly and efficiently so I will have more inspiration to work on the cinematic. The thing is I do expect them to do that, or at least hope for them to do it. Thats why TTOA is slow. Because I AM over-ambitious, I do not settle for anything but the best if it is being produced by me, and I like to get things out of the way early (I.E. skins and models) before getting deeply into design. In addition to that, school f***s up my life. I'm almost always tired nowadays, I seem to be having some odd allergie problems (my nose is always bugging me) or something since school started this year and a bunch more. Creating a whole new story, then making it into a cinematic, as well as managing a website all myself (working on the new revamp currently) is tough work. In addition to that I'm running on only 3-4 hours of sleep on most school nights. I try to go to bed earlier, but then I can't seem to fall asleep. Too much shit on my mind - School, my grades, worrying about meeting the demands of my TTOA fans (and of course other social aspects in Real Life), and all sorts of other crap. If it could all just go away for a month or two I could come back and deliver to it a swift kick in the ass and get going again. But I see thats not gonna happen. *sighs* Yes, I had a crummy day today. Not for any particular reason. Maybe its just because I'm dog tired, and its been overcast and raining all day. Hell at I've only got 6 or 7 weeks of school left this year. I seem to get really bent out of shape towards the end of the school year. I dunno why, I guess I just get sick of dealing with all the crap. If I manage to get a really good nights sleep sometime before the weekend, I'll be sure to try to start cranking up the gears at full speed, and showing a few more things for TTOA. Ok so eh back on topic - I think we have plenty of projects. I think maybe adding just a few more projects would be the cherry to top it of. For one, I think Bloodslaughter should get hosting for his cinematic project - "The Hobbit". If we've got a cinematics section, there might as well be 4 or 5 projects in it. NOTE to the Team - You guys are doing a fine job really. Our only fault right now is speed - I think the pace could be picked up a bit more. I don't think a single unanimated low-poly model should take more then 1 or 2 nights to finish. Oinkerwinkle has proven this to me when he did a hat for the nobleman villager, and modeled it, unwrapped it, skinned it, and attached it to the villager in around an hour or two. I know I've been quite slow lately too. But I'm not just gonna let TTOA slip off and die. If you guys do the hard work, it will be seen. |

Anybody who answered "too many projects" is crazy and does not understand the situation that has been plaguing this site since its creation. Ever wonder why the administration had to resort to placing all projects buried under those categories? Every wonder why projects were intended to go through a filtering process by the project director? It's because there are too many projects on this site. Ask any member, moderator, or staff who has been here for the past year, and they will tell you the same. There are some great projects on this site which simply have taken a long time to complete and I commend them for their continued diligence. But there are some vegetating projects that have failed to accomplish much and just continue to be hosted here. What ends up happening is that projects accmulate in great amounts until you reach this sort of situation where there is a clear overflow of projects. Until some of the less active projects and cleared out, there should be no new projects accepted here. (Not to sound hypocritical about my statement regarding people who have been here for a year: I'm a former admin - those of you who have been here long enough know me and don't need to guess who I am. I'm here just to check up on a few of my favorite projects) |

I think it's good to host projects, but maybe before the site hosts someone, the person who wants to be hosted should demonstrate that they're able to complete their project, and perhaps that they have an appreciable amount of work done on it. |

My opinion in this way Not Enough. Some of you may or may not have seen the An Eternal Vendetta Series. Me and [Death] have been put at a standstill because we have been waiting, (for about 6 months), for hosting at this site. This is getting a little out of hand, as we like War3c, but it's not responding to our questions or requests. We are currently planning 4-5 cinematics. [Death] is working on the cameras for the Prolouge, and I am touching Act 1. This is a really great series I think as well as many others, (Codsidering I get about 5-8 PM's DAILY about progress on AEV), yet, it get shoved in the closet and I think I've been too nice and noble about it for too long. So I am going to ask the Admins in public. "Can me and [Death] get our An Eternal Vendetta Series hosted?" There. Now everyone has seen it, maybe we can get lucky and get a nice little AEV Forum going on!! ---AEV's Status if you care--- Right now, we have about 30% of the Prolouge finished, 55% of Act 1, and that's about it. We have a trailer that we realeased awhile back, that I worked my ASS off to try to get it out quick to get a nice forum while I had the inspiration to make it. Yet, nothing came from it. I can safely say this, everyone who watched it, was amazed. I recived PM's like crazy for the next 3 weeks. I was really getting excited and hoping for this long awaited forum, that never came. Anyways, back on topic. I think that a few projects are getting more attention than they should, that new project on the Homepage, LOOKS promising, yet looks can be deceving. I haven't even heard of the project, and all of a sudden it just pops up in the new projects section? As Iron Ian said, "The Hobbit" looks VERY VERY Good. Yet, no hosting. Anyways, that's my cruddy opinion. Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts. -Linkmaster ::EDIT:: If all of you haven't noticed. Draco seems to be the only one noticing the problems with the site. His polls hit directly on what needs to be done. Good job. ::EDIT EDIT:: Whitehorn, awesome sig. Makes me smile everytime... I guess I should get around to making a new one for myself.. |

I completely agree that promising projects that have shown significant work should get hosted. But if you want the proper attention for your project, some of the dead ones should be removed. The more projects, the less attention each one gets, right? |
