Dragon vs. DungeonM

DungeonM
Dragon apparently has "great" terraining skills, and my terrain "sucks".

Well heres your chance to prove it, you choose the the idea, rules ect.

Bring it on.

this should be interesting. That's assuming he will even post here

Very well, I will participate. Rules are: Custom objects, but only if they are publicly downloadable. You pick the theme.

This should be interesting. Only I have one other rule: Keep it as friendly as possible.

Well, if themes up to me I suppose some sort of village with some activity going in the center? Agree?

BTW: Is it just me or has the site been really laggy?

Challenging someone to making sometihng as simple as a city or village is quite worthless. ANyone can do that. May I suggest sometihng a bit tougher? If you wanna know how good a terrainer is, ask them to do sometihng without custom ANYTHING, something that many would think impossible. You have to see if they know the World Editor well enough AS IT IS, and see if they can even USE the tools provided.

Well if a village is too simple, how about...

A large outpost atop a cold and isolated mountain, race dosen't matter.

Are you guys going with the playable ingame type of terrain or the make it look as interesting and eye-candy variation?

Here's an idea. Get a picture of a place, like a landscape or something, and try to recreate it in WE. Both of you will have to work off the same picture, so it'll be fair.

For example, you could use a WOW pic as your reference, since WOW and WC are pretty close.

thats a great idea Beam, in fact when i spot being lazy i think i'll start a challenge like that. Of course then there will be no variety in the challenge...

Hows this one, except you replace the base with something... less technologic?

What beam said was a great idea but as someone else said their wouldn't be any variety, I'll wait until Dragon has something to say.

Please pick something...

I think one of these would be good.

I dunno... WE doesn't have any doodads that could be used to make those things. Obelisks maybe but nothing much else. I was thinking more screens from WoW seeing as it'd be easier to recreate those things in there without having to resort to custom models.

How bout you guys go get someone to write a descriptive piece about a place and you try to make that from what they write? It'd be more specific, seeing as you will be more limited in how you make the terrain, but then again, you wouldn't have a chance to let your imagination go. Well, up to you whether you want to know who's got better ideas or who's better at recreating something specific.
