Should there be a free icon artist's guild?

It may not be my place to propose this but I will anyway. Should this forum have a guild of artists who will take icon requests for free? It could be its own thread or something where each participating artist displays his work and people needing icons could pick one and make a request. And if any particular artist gets overwhelmed he can just pass on some requests to other artists. I for one will volunteer as the first participating artist and invite others to help out too. Lend me your thoughts.
