Not really a trigger question but anyone know how to change a normal unit directly into a hero in the world editor object manager |

first, make your "unit" w/ object editor then, make your "hero" w/ object editor make a trigger where a certain event happens and then an action where: Condition:Player controls "unit" Action:Remove "unit" >>>>> Create "hero" at <region> (for the region, you also may need another trigger which makes a region follow the unit) this is the simplest of simplest in triggering so if it sux, dont blame me, im not a pro triggerer... |

Base the unit off of a hero. |

no what i'm want to do is turn a unit (type) into a hero(type) directly in the editor so the hero has the same stats as the unit without having to change much of the units stats |

or another alternative, without triggers, would be to use illidan's permanant demon form, try searching it, and then set the 2nd form to the hero's..it should work.. |

you can't, base your hero on another hero and then copy all the stats from the unit to the hero. Yea, it sucks, but it is still the best way, after all, if you could change a unit into a hero, you would have to edit all the stuff like names and hero stats from scratch anyway. |

lol, you are so funny. The only way I know is to copy a already existing hero and change the model to the unit you want and don't forget to change the icons too and by the same time you can change all his hero abilities and stats... thats not so hard. Did I understand what did you ask or I'm wrong lol ... You say its not a trigger question. |

Seems pretty simple make a hero and give it a model file of the unit..maybe im wrong.... |

Basically do what they said. Make a custom hero of for example the blademaster. Change the model and icons. Then jsut copy and paste the stats of your unit into the heros that you made. Thats the only way I know how to do it. |

Yup, as it has already been said, make a new custom hero and give him the unit's model, icon, cast backswing, cast point, attack backswing, damage point, movement speed, animation-movement speed, etc... and it will look just like the unit, only it is a hero. Then you think of the name for this new hero type, change the names used (if you base your new hero on a similar hero, for example you make a human swordsman hero, and you base the hero on a palladin, then you have less work changing the names because you can only modify the existing names slightly; it would be strange, of course, if you based the hero on an orc blademaster and keep the names like "samuro" for the new human hero :) ), change the stats (strenght, agility, inteligence; again, it is easier if you started with a similar hero, because then you have a better feeling of what the stats of your new hero should be), give the hero different hero abilities, and you have a new hero! |
