don't forget warcraft 3 viewer and photoshop, they're my favourite programs to use when skinning.

ok, heres what you want to do... 1st - extract the .blp file you want to change, in your case the crpyt lord, from the mpq using WinMPQ or something else.

2nd - Convert the .blp file to tga using warcraft viewer or another program.

3rd - Now using photoshop open you picture (heres the tricky part)
now as you can see there are parts where the skin has grey and white squares. This is where the team colour shows through. This can be deleted by painting over it.

Now, if you want to add a place where team colour shows through you have two options.
1 - You can select areas and delete them.
or
2 - using quickmask colour everything in black then use white on the areas where you want team color to show through. Then go back to normal mode and delete the selected stuff.

4th - convert it back to .blp with warcraft viewer. then import it into wc3.

Note - quickmask mode is found on the tool thingy where you can choose what tool you want to use. Look near the bottom. And this does not work for hero glow. You have to model for that and i could tell you but im too lazy.
