spell ideas needed.

k right now, its for a polar bear rider. its the misha model for like snow terrain with a mk on top. They can be the normal spells, i just dont feel like using throw hammer too much and stuff like that. so spells that a bear or mountain dwarf guy could use. they can be trigger spells also. theres 4 normal 5 level spells and 1ultimate that they get at like level 20 or so and its 3 levels.
also i know this isnt the place to ask.. but this is for an AOS map im making and if your interested ill give u details on msn and [email protected] or AIM at twistar9999

Snowstorm :
Creates a storm of snow that prevents enemies from seeing. Basicly it just makes snow fall and makes a white fade filter flash on all opponents screen every few seconds, making it harder for them to control their units.

Frozen Feet :
Freezes the Polar Bear's feet to make him slide along the surface of the ground. Just makes the hero faster with a cool effect.

Avalanche :
Makes the Mountain King yell out really loud, making rocks tumble towards a target point. Stampede with a changed graphics and stats.

Hunter Instinct:
The Polar bear choses an enemy unit, and all units of that type (example all Footmen) takes 25% more damage of the damage that the hero would deal to them. :D

lol, where do you guys get these? well i really only need 1 more non ultimate cause im using the snowstorm for ultimate. what im going to do for that also is deselect their units when the screen whites out. and then also, i need an ultimate for an archer hero.
edit: crap theres a prob with snow storm, fadefilters can only effect everyone, not just half the people.
edit2: oh wait lol that was like 20 seconds in between these 2, i think theres a way though ;)
edit3: lol nope didnt work. i think im gonna make the filter show for everyone, but let the team thats using it control thier units.

K i know you said no throw hammer spells but here's pretty much one

Hammer of Rage:
The Mountain King throws an enchanted hammer into an enemy, stunning it, putting the Polar Bear into a rage in which he rushes into the enemy and begins to rip it apart with furious attacks.

And one for the archer

Exploding Arrow:
The archer launches an arrow which impales its target, and explodes several seconds later, automatcally killing the impaled unit, dealing damage to nearby units, and setting a fire on the area, which will damage any unit who gets too close.

the exploding arrows good, but i have something like it, its a flaming arrow and its the same just no mass damage stuff. oh and for the frozen feet, do you know how to make a unit completely still like play no animation, but still be able to move around the map?

For an archer hero, an interesting ultimate might be one based off spellbook and with three different 'sub-spells':

Aim (Spellbook ability)

Aim: Head
Aims for the heads of enemies, giving a 15% chance to stun them for a short time with each arrow. Adds 15 damage per attack, costs 10 mana.

Aim: Arm
Aims for the arms of enemies, giving a 15% chance to have them deal less damage for a 15 seconds with each arrow. Adds 10 damage per attack, costs 7 mana.

Aim: Leg
Aims for the legs of enemies, giving a 15% chance to slow their movement speed for 15 seconds with each arrow. Adds 5 damage per attack, costs 4 mana.

These would all be based off different arrow spells, and trigger-enhanced to give the proper effects and chances.

hmm... that would actually be very cool. I think ill use that. and i guess ill kind of make this my official spell idea thread. so, yeah ive got plenty of heros that need spells. and also, if you want any of these spells, ill gladdly give them to you :D

well, i think i already told this one earlier but here it goes again...

<aura>
when activated (thru immolation that does nothing, just drains mana) the hero gains an aura that gives all nearby units permanent immolation (red) and limited version of phoenix fire...

<hero related>
when cast, the hero deals 100/200/300 + |1) 20% of his max mana, 2) 15% of his max life + 15% of his max mana, 3) 30% life + 30% mana| damage to an unit an gives a random effect, effects go thru
1) poison dagger
2) set on fire
3) cripple
4) instant kill
5) steal mana & life
6) doom
7) eternal tempest*
eternal tempest* is a spell that gives the target permanent immolation that damages own units & self (target-owned) and a phoenix fire that damages own units & self, when it kills the target, the target explodes (AOE on death) and damages everything (both friendlies and "yours"), also it gives the target an Improved version of wander, so you can't drag it off the end of the map (in other words, it WILL kill all target-friendly targets)

i pressume you know how to make an random effect trigger ?

oh yeah, and you can invent alot of new spells by using Greaters "non-aoe to AOE spells".....like mass poison dagger or mass Control Magic....
or mass steal spell etc....lots of buffs become powerful spells.....
also, don't forget the Crown of Kings ability, just set it to -10/-10/-10 and add it thru triggers as an effect.....it severly cripples enemy heroes !

as for "eternal tempest" spell, when the unit blows up, it leaves an "burning oil" effect on the ground...

how about this for a spell for a random hero

Renewal:

Returns all units near the caster to full health, instantly cools down all their abilities, and sets their mana to 0.

The biggest problem is that renewal itself would have no cooldown (im pretty sure) so you could make a fake one by removing renewal and giving them a dummy spells, until x seconds when they get the real spell back.

I like the renewal, but shark, that seems kind of hard to make but it would be REALLY cool. sort of cheap for an AOS tho. I think i may just use the eternal tempest, but how do you tell if a spell kills a nearby unit? and also i think ill just start taking ideas on the next hero, the River Hunter. Hes a naga myrmadon thing i think. theres a river running through the center of the map and im prolly gonna make some pools all over. So some stuff for that would be cool.

Let's see... You should probably put regions over all water areas to allow them to be detected easily: It'd make some interesting spells possible. Otherwise, here are a few ideas not really requiring that.

Ability 1: Aquatic Diety. Creates a ward type unit with a suitable naga building or similar model. Increases attack and movement speed for nearby allies quite a lot, but can only be cast in the water. Based off a 'Tiny great hall'-type ability, but with a small building that can only be built in water. Effect and AoE goes up with levels.

Ability 2: Lurk. Based off submerge, this allows the River Hunter to hide underwater and attack enemies that pass by. Looks just like submerge, but gives the hero a ranged attack. He'll also have permanent invisibility unless attacking. Attack range and attack damage goes up with levels.

Ability 3: Wave. Your average 'Crushing Wave'-type AoE damage spell.

Ability 4: Slippery Skin. A passive evasion ability.

Ability 5: Clean Sweep. Quite unique, this ability causes massive torrents of water to sweep along the river in the map, carrying all units caught a distance downstream as well as damaging them. Creates invisible casters all along the river to cast a crushing wave-type spell and uses plain old movement triggers to move all units in the river downstream.
