Hm oh yeah, WC3: The Frozen Throne users can now participate in the open beta of patch 1.15. Simply connect to USWest and your gateway list will be updated with a new gateway called Westfall. There you can download the beta patch and participate in the testing, as long as you have the ENGLISH version. If you want to play patch 1.14b again just join the other gateways and it will be downgraded to its original form.

Oh btw there will be a competition on Tuesday to win spots in the WoW Beta

After a long time of waiting, i can finally get that tinker, i am downloading it right now.... EDIT: Crud, help! When i click to play TFT, it always tells me it cannot find the CD rom! EDIT EDIT: Ok, i just reverted back to 1.14b and it worked, so i guess i won't get to see that beta afterall...

try loading your regular RoC cd. If you got two cd rom drives, put them both in. Heck I usually run TFT without the tft disc, only with RoC disc... (weird aye) without anything added, no third party shit

Bought mine at a store, didn't download it off the internet. And besides, i tried roc disk with roc and tft, gave me the same message. "Cannot find disk in cd rom drive", i put my disks in the CD writer since my CD drive is broken. It still detects em, but it goes slower. It's odd that this patch prevents me from getting on tft, but thank goodness i found that revert to 1.14b thing in my wc3 foulder.

How do i change my gateway?

Try deamon tools then enable safedisc protection etc. should fix and bypass those additional protections they added to the patch (remember patch 1.10 for Diablo II? They added additonal cd checking protections, would be the same for 1.15. Short story; if you cant play it now you probably wont be able later on when its officially released)

Oh. and for the people who want to edit and skin those files, they are "protected", but you can easily negate that by using hex editing and removing the unneeded hex values at the front of the headerfile.

Urgh ... non-retail RoC + retail TFT = can't get onto B.net and get this patch? (Apparently Safedisc is no help.)

I'm a little pissed, because when I load the patch, it screws up Warcraft 3 as to where it won't load. It says it can't 'read' War3.exe. Can somebody help?

Well that is wierd, I have new patch and it works (realy cool ^_^ )

A Fix from battle.net poster:

this is for all the people who are experiencing fatal error style messages.
1.)right click on your TFT icon on your desktop and goto properties
2.)in the box marked target add the following sequence -opengl
2a.) it should now read "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" -opengl
3.)click apply
4.)the game should now run as it should

Note: When i used this solution my graphics changed a bit, its nothing to worry about

This is for the people with war3 crashes, not for the people with cd no found errors. Also note;if people update and they crash after restart, the opengl property is not applied as it runs the originlal exe immediately. Just restart with the shortcut

Lu balu, is it that you cannot get the patch (aka get to uswest, then update your gateways by connecting, then exit and change gateways, then connect to westfall and update?) or...?
