The contest would go as follows. A piece of terrain would be supplied and all contestants must use the given terrain. Nothing custom would be allowed, and the cinematics must reach at least 1 minute. Hows that sound to you guys? any suggestions, would you participate? I know i would. |

Woo contests :D Here are some rules I can suggest. You can take any of these rules and use them for the contest if you want. Quote:
Just a few little suggestions. Iron_Ian |

WHOA replies, i could have sworn you all stopped caring, okay i'll PM you guys with the rules :) and a deadline to look for. Due to things that are happening in my life i'll give 5 more days until i close admissions. Then i'll tell you guys the terrain i'm making so you can start planning what your doing. Goodluck :) |

Sound like good rules...don't really mind about having more models though. It depends on whether it is based on technical ability or watchability. If it's watchability then the extra models/skins shouldn't really be needed. Just my opinion. |

That just leaves the terrain. What will you guys use? |

I´ll try it out! |

Yes i probably should have thought this a little better, you can add story related doodads though NO enviromental doodads, for example if you really want to add a temple, find a way to add it with triggers :) Dear god, watchability, thats the whole point of a cinematic right? eye candy? |

Man you need to come up with a complete set of rules from scratch, will give you a hand if you want. Not being funny or anything but I can put anything into the map using triggers, a temple is no problem...might as well just allow people to put in what they want. Again, just my opinion. |

Look if really wanted to we could eisily input the environmental doodads as units or effects, but what you can do is ban any doodad model placement unless it is story related. This wayt people can't use any methids to create envirnmental doodads. |

Sorry, just resently given up smoking cigs and dope in one go - been smoking for years - not really thinking like my normal self. I was thinking at work that I'm being padantic...it really doesn't matter, just do it. If the end products are good does it really matter what techniques people use. Sorry again, will sit in the corner and be quiet. |

Anyone want to take this contest from me? i am horrible at rules though the terrain is coming along nicely. Its a 64x64 map because with the time i have now thats the only thing i'll be able to finish and the theme is Forsaken Lands, just think of those words but if someone like Iron_Ian or one of the other moderators wants to set a strict set of rules PLEASE do so, i'll take anyone who is willing to create some strict rules, until then you guys keep brain storming loop holes :) |
