A couple of screenies would make you no wanting to dl this. I tried it. No custom models as far as i saw.. just some recolor skins etc. They even use the same buildings as normal wc3 does. Geez.. and I thought I had someone to compete with here. :/ |

RightField is right. Screenshots wouldn't particularly promote this announcement. |

Hey, I did a lot of those skins (when I sucked, and I'm a bit better now)! Anyway, theres going to be a campaign for it too, the tc wasn't even origionally a part of it. Also, warb tries to focus on gameplay, not totally new models. IF he had those resources available to him he might of used them. edit- Spoiled Brats. |

You know a lot of people say that players only think about how a mod looks. I always tell aspiring modders, "No, it doesn't have to have the newest shiniest models, if it has good gameplay, people with love it!" Well, I guess I am proved wrong. And also, Rightfield. There is no competition, because we don't have the same goal, if we did, i would go around finding modelers, wouldn't I? Also, at CC, there IS a direct link to the download page, there isn't one here. I am not the poster of news HERE, so don't bitch about that. |

Warbringer87, and everyone else out there, TToR has the same goals every normal (which probably includes yours) mod has: to entertain. When making a mod, we try to do the best we can at all of the aspects of the mod; I'm sure that's also the case with you. However, gameplay still remains one of the core factors that makes a mod good, and just because TToR might look nice, doesn't mean it has a bad gameplay, does it? It's the same the other way around, the fact that your mod might not have all new models etc doesn't mean that the gameplay is bad. The only way to judge a mod is to play it yourself and give it a general score. I wish you good luck on your mod, and I'm certainly going to try it out when I have the time. Well, I tried it out. It's really... not interesting. I'm not a big fan of TC (total conversions), either, but there were misnamed buffs, incorrect labels on tooltips (salvation heals -10), typos, and not really that many units. I found TToR to be a piece of crap due to its abhorent amount of errors... but even that was a bit more interesting than this was. My opinion may not be highly regarded... but IMO, this is worth one look at most. |

Well whatever..its not a very fun mod. They recycle most of the vanilla Wc3 units and just fling new (and fairly stupid) names on them, or change minor things. Such as the High Priest spell which is just a modified Unholy Frenzy that GIVES you life! (OMFG ITS SO REVOLUTIONARY...negative values!) instead of taking life away with the increased attack speed. they didnt bother changing the buff on this spell either, so it still says UNHOLY FRENZY in the buff status bar..and the graphic is the same, with a slapped on Resurrection effect. Pretty lackluster stuff, in general. Its not that there was NO effort put in (clearly there has been some effort to balance , etc.) but it is just not coming through because the content is so poorly modified and reeks of amateurish tweaking and fooling around rather than intense, REAL modding. It advertises itself as a TC too which is the biggest joke. If THIS is a TC , then why dont i go cook up a map in the editor in 5 minutes, change the name of footman to swordman and alter his Hp by reducing it 100 points. Wow. great TC i've got there.... :< |
